Poposki: My experience after testing the HGST 7K6000 6T hard drive

Bobo spent two days testing the HGST 7K6000 6TB hard drive . The SAS interface tested previously was converted using a SAS array card, which resulted in performance degradation. This time, the SATA3.0 interface was tested, which gave the original read and write speeds. Its performance exceeded that of the Seagate 6TB PMR hard drive without a problem. Here is a brief description of the test experience.

1. Super fast copying speed

Bobo copied a 3.6GB file in just over 16 seconds, with a copy speed of 220MB/s. No wonder HGST positioned it as a performance-level mechanical hard drive , and it is quite good for storing high-definition movies.

2. Short seek time

Reading time is 12 milliseconds, and writing time is 2-4 milliseconds. Western Digital Black Disk and Seagate enterprise-level hard disk are nothing compared to it.

3. The fever is really serious

After testing the AS SSD , more than ten minutes later, I clicked the temperature detection software and it showed that the temperature of the disk was 52 degrees, which is really high. However, this temperature is at the same level as the Western Digital Black Disk. If you can accept the temperature of the Black Disk, you can also accept the temperature of this hard drive.

In general, this hard drive uses 5 disks, each disk is 1.2TB , and uses PMR perpendicular magnetic recording technology. PMR hard drives are almost at the end of their usefulness. Seagate's 6TB PMR Air hard drive has a single disk of 1TB , a lower magnetic storage density, and weaker performance than HGST.
