GeForce Experience adds four new features, driver upgrade "significant" changes

NVIDIA's GeForce Experience (GFE) is a very good game assistant tool that can record, live broadcast, share videos, optimize games and download drivers. NVIDIA's public version graphics card can also adjust the faith light. Recently, GFE software has upgraded four functions and supports GameStream with 4K resolution. However, the most significant change may be that NVIDIA will change the driver upgrade release method after December. In the future, GFE will have priority in obtaining new driver upgrades, and web downloads will be put behind.

Let’s talk about the functional upgrades of the GFE software first. The first is NVIDIA’s GameStream function, which now supports 4K resolution. If you have a GeForce GTX graphics card and a Shield device, you can now play games through GameStream at 4K resolution.

The second feature is Youtube Live Gaming. Youtube recently launched the Youtube Gaming feature. NVIDIA's GFE can now also share the function to achieve 1080p 60fps Youtube Live.

The third item is Twitch 1080p 60fps live broadcast. NVIDIA supported Twitch live broadcast as early as 2013, and now this feature can support 1080p 60fps live broadcast.

The fourth function is to automatically obtain Game Ready drivers, so players can more conveniently download the official WHQL version of drivers optimized for the game as soon as possible.

The above four function upgrades and optimizations are relatively routine. The biggest change in the future GFE is that NVIDIA is preparing to change the driver distribution method. Now NVIDIA's drivers can be downloaded from the web or automatically upgraded by GFE. Both methods can upgrade to the latest driver at the first time. However, in December this year, NVIDIA's Game Raady driver will be upgraded through GFE first.

NVIDIA explained that the change was made because their survey found that 90% of players downloaded software through GFE. However, the significance of this small matter can actually be big or small. To use a popular point of view, "NVIDIA is building its own ecosystem", which can integrate its own products and technologies and improve user stickiness.

On the other hand, this also means that users will be tied to NVIDIA's GFE software ecosystem. The exact details of NVIDIA's new driver upgrade are still uncertain.
