China Association of Automobile Manufacturers: Brief analysis of automobile industry production and sales in June 2024

According to an analysis by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in the first half of 2024, domestic sales increased slightly year-on-year, and terminal inventories were higher than normal levels; automobile exports maintained rapid growth, making a significant contribution to driving the overall market growth, and the growth rate of new energy vehicle exports slowed significantly; new energy vehicle production and sales continued to maintain rapid growth, and market share steadily increased.

In June 2024, automobile production and sales reached 2.507 million and 2.552 million respectively, up 5.7% and 5.6% month-on-month, and down 2.1% and 2.7% year-on-year respectively.

From January to June 2024, automobile production and sales reached 13.891 million and 14.047 million respectively, up 4.9% and 6.1% year-on-year respectively.

In June 2024, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 2.177 million and 2.215 million respectively, an increase of 6.2% and 6.7% month-on-month, and a decrease of 1.9% and 2.3% year-on-year respectively.

From January to June 2024, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 11.886 million and 11.979 million respectively, up 5.4% and 6.3% year-on-year respectively.

In June 2024, the production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 330,000 and 337,000 respectively. The production increased by 2.8% and the sales decreased by 1.2% month-on-month, and decreased by 3.5% and 4.9% year-on-year respectively.

From January to June 2024, the production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 2.005 million and 2.068 million respectively, up 2% and 4.9% year-on-year respectively.

In June 2024, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 1.003 million and 1.049 million respectively, up 28.1% and 30.1% year-on-year respectively.

From January to June 2024, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 4.929 million and 4.944 million respectively, up 30.1% and 32% year-on-year respectively.

In June 2024, domestic automobile sales reached 2.067 million units, a month-on-month increase of 6.8% and a year-on-year decrease of 7.7%.

From January to June 2024, domestic automobile sales reached 11.255 million units, a year-on-year increase of 1.4%.

In June 2024, 485,000 automobiles were exported, a month-on-month increase of 0.7% and a year-on-year increase of 26.9%.

From January to June 2024, 2.793 million vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 30.5%.
