In July 2024, the sales volume of Hongmeng Zhixing's M9 exceeded 18,000 units, setting a historical high.

The success of this car has made people look forward to another car under Hongmeng Zhixing, Xiangjie S9. Since both are Huawei N-piece sets, can Xiangjie S9 also replicate the magic of Wenjie M9?

On August 6, the medium-to-large sedan Xiangjie S9 jointly developed by Huawei and BAIC was officially launched, priced at 399,800-449,800 yuan, and immediately became one of the most popular models on social media. The new car has two models, priced at 399,800-449,800 yuan, and before it was launched, the pre-sale price of this car was 450,000 yuan.

This price not only brings shock, but also represents the return of Xiangjie S9 to the "ground", abandoning the previous plan to compete with Mercedes-Benz S-Class in price, and instead attacking from a lower dimension, directly targeting its competitors as the German Three Musketeers: Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6L and BMW 5 Series.

When the price was announced, the voices of "really good" were overwhelming. The Enjoy S9 won praise for being "people-friendly" before it was even released. As a high-end mid-to-large sedan, it must be good-looking. The appearance of the Enjoy S9 is similar to that of the Wenjie M9, and is also similar to the Zhijie S7. It is calm and majestic, but also has a sense of technology.

Huawei's influence is unmatched as it was able to convince three different manufacturers, namely, SERES, Chery and BAIC, to adopt a similar family style.

The body length of the Xingjie S9 is 5160mm, and the wheelbase reaches 3050mm, which is a standard executive sedan. Interestingly, this car can also be equipped with an electronic rearview mirror, which expands the field of view twice as much as the traditional rearview mirror and reduces the front blind spot by 60%.

As an executive-class sedan, the S9 has also reached a relatively high level in terms of comfort. All models are equipped with Shuyun zero-gravity seats made of NAPPA leather material, and the seat heating, ventilation and massage functions are also available. The Xiangjie S9 is equipped with Huawei's Hongmeng 4.0 smart cockpit, and its intelligent voice interaction has reached a very high level. It can realize voice recognition in four areas in the car and can have continuous conversations with the car system, realizing the true meaning of "seeing is speaking".

Almost every mainstream new energy manufacturer in China has a smart cockpit, but Huawei's advantage is that it is the top-of-the-line in the smartphone market, and can provide users with industry-leading experience in terms of vehicle-machine interconnection and human-vehicle interaction, and has obvious advantages in usability, playability, and fluency.

The same is true for intelligent driving systems. Mainstream manufacturers are all working on high-end intelligent driving assistance systems, but the Huawei ADS3.0 high-end intelligent driving assistance system equipped in the Enjoy S9 is a little different.

The ADS3.0 system is part of Huawei Qiankun. It is the first in the industry to launch the intelligent driving function from parking space to parking space. It can handle various car use scenarios. It can be said that it can go anywhere a human driver can go. Mainstream manufacturers can play intelligent driving on highways, elevated roads, and urban main roads, but the ADS 3.0 system allows the Enjoy S9 to ignore various complex road conditions and get from point A to point B without pressure.

In addition, the Xingjie S9 also supports the ability to park the car as soon as obstacles are removed, and users can park the car remotely with one click. Another major feature of the Xiangjie S9 is that it is equipped with Huawei's Tuling intelligent chassis. The air suspension has a 5-speed adaptive adjustment function, which can actively adjust the chassis height, softness and hardness, and body posture according to the perception of road conditions. It is worth mentioning that as a sedan, the Xiangjie S9 provides a maximum wading depth of 430mm. This function is not useful in most cases, but if you really encounter a sudden rainstorm, its role will be revealed.

The product concept of Enjoy S9 is consistent with that of M9 - you can choose not to use this function, but we must provide it.

Zhang Jianyong, chairman of BAIC, said at the press conference that BAIC has concentrated all its advantageous resources in the entire industry chain and put all its resources into the Enjoy S9. He also said that the soul of a car company is not to stand still, so he welcomes cooperation with Huawei. It is reported that in the process of building the Enjoy S9, BAIC provided high-end manufacturing technology, luxury car quality control system and industry-leading smart factory.

BAIC's overall strength is obviously greater than that of SERES, and it also provides greater support and help to Huawei. From this perspective, the Enjoy S9 has a great possibility of creating a bigger sales myth than the Wenjie M9.
