However, it is not easy for most people to go to the hospital for sleep monitoring. Not only do they have to take leave to go to the hospital, but they also have to sleep with various monitoring equipment on a strange bed in the hospital, especially most of the time this monitoring is done during the day. However, these reasons have created a new field, that is, smart monitoring of sleep. The so-called smart monitoring of sleep is generally divided into three types: mobile phone APP monitoring, wearable device monitoring, and non-wearable device monitoring. Are these monitorings the same as those in the hospital? Are they as reliable as those in the hospital? Let's analyze them one by one. Let's talk about mobile phone APP monitoring first. Mobile phone APP monitoring of sleep uses the accelerometer and gyroscope inside the mobile phone to monitor sleeping movements, so as to analyze sleep quality, deep sleep time, etc. This APP will prompt you to put the phone in a certain position on the bed, and then start to record a series of processes from lying down to falling asleep to deep sleep to waking up according to the vibration of the bed. This type of APP generally claims to have the following functions: monitoring the time of entering sleep, monitoring the time of deep sleep, recording dream talk or snoring, recording the time of awakening, etc. However, it is not difficult to find that the principle of mobile phone APP monitoring is to sense the vibration of the bed through the sensor of the mobile phone. This is not difficult to say for single people, as there is only one person on the bed. If it is a double bed where a couple sleeps together, how to calculate this vibration? Moreover, there are problems such as radiation and power consumption when using mobile phone APP for monitoring. For people who are not in direct contact with the monitored person, it is even more impossible to monitor data such as pulse and blood oxygen saturation. Then there are wearable devices. Wearable devices have their own acceleration sensors and can record your movements without relying on mobile phones. Whether you wear a bracelet, watch or ring that fits your body and moves with your body, you can use the built-in acceleration sensor to more accurately sense your movements. When the acceleration sensor in the wearable device records your movement status, it can transmit your data to the mobile phone through Bluetooth, analyze it in the mobile phone APP through the personal information provided by the user, such as age, and finally give a statistics in the APP. What data will be included in this statistics depends on what hardware your wearable device has as support. For example, if your wearable device has a heart rate sensor, it can record your heart rate changes during sleep. If there are red light LEDs and infrared light LEDs, blood oxygen content can also be detected. These are all auxiliary analysis effects for your sleep monitoring, which is much more accurate than mobile phone monitoring. Moreover, wearable devices are independent and will not be affected by the people sleeping together. This measurement method is already much more accurate than mobile phones, but if you want to thoroughly know how your brain waves are active during sleep, or to accurately analyze what causes your insomnia, a bracelet is far from enough. Finally, there are non-wearable devices. The more common non-wearable devices include smart mattresses, smart pillows, smart bed belts, smart pillow buckles, etc. This kind of smart hardware products designed only for monitoring sleep generally have built-in high-sensitivity sensors that can record the user's sleep quality, heart rate, breathing and snoring. Users can view the sleep report analyzed by the software on their mobile phones through Bluetooth connection. At the same time, most non-wearable smart devices for monitoring sleep also have the function of playing background music that promotes falling asleep, and there are also smart alarm clocks in the morning, so that you can wake up less painfully in light sleep. The biggest weakness of wearable devices is that they cannot record and analyze breathing, which is the advantage of non-wearable devices. Non-wearable devices also monitor sleep quality for personal exercise. Although they are placed on the bed, they are in close contact with people, making exercise records more accurate. But again, this kind of sleep monitoring can only achieve the effect of monitoring. Although it can help you analyze data such as deep sleep, breathing, and heartbeat, it cannot accurately tell you where your sleep problem lies. There is still a certain gap with the real sleep monitoring in the hospital. If your sleep has reached a very bad state, it is recommended to go to the hospital for formal testing. If you just want to see your sleep quality, or urge yourself to go to bed earlier through this sleep quality, then non-wearable sleep monitoring is a good choice.
