China Passenger Car Association: Passenger car retail sales will reach 2.622 million units in December 2024, with new energy vehicles accounting for more than 50%

The latest sales data from the Passenger Car Association (CCAA) shows that from December 1 to 31, the retail sales of passenger cars reached 2.622 million units, an increase of 11% year-on-year and 9% month-on-month. The cumulative retail sales this year is 22.88 million units, a year-on-year increase of 5%.

In addition, from December 1 to 31, the national passenger car manufacturers' wholesale volume was 3.064 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 13% from the same period in December last year and a month-on-month increase of 5% from the same period last month. The cumulative wholesale volume this year was 27.18 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 6%.

In the new energy market, the retail sales volume from December 1 to 31 was 1.379 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 46% from the same period last December and a month-on-month increase of 10%. The cumulative retail sales volume this year reached 10.975 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 42%;

During the same period, the national passenger car manufacturers' new energy wholesale volume was 1.5 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 35% from the same period in December last year and a month-on-month increase of 5%. The cumulative wholesale volume this year was 12.218 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 38%.
