Is it not enough to be comparable to a thousand-yuan graphics card? Intel is giving up the most powerful core graphics Iris Pro

Intel is not a GPU company, but because its desktop CPUs are basically integrated with GPU units, Intel has the largest GPU share in the world, and most of the time it exceeds 70%, which is simply a "monopoly". With the release of the Haswell architecture in 2013, Intel also gave the core graphics a new name - Iris (Sharp Torch), and the highest-end one is Iris Pro, which is said to have performance comparable to a thousand-yuan discrete graphics card. The performance of Intel's strongest core graphics is indeed good, but the cost is also very high, and it has never been popularized. Intel is likely to cut off the Iris Pro core graphics in the next generation.

Intel, which offers a free GPU when you buy a CPU, may cut off its most powerful integrated graphics card, Iris Pro. Intel's integrated graphics cards now have two brands, HD Grpahics and Iris (Iris Pro is considered three if it is separated). Iris Pro is known as the most powerful integrated graphics card, usually belonging to the GT3e or GT4e series . It not only has the most GPU computing units, but also comes with a costly 128MB eDRAM cache. The Iris Pro integrated graphics card is said to be customized according to Apple's requirements and is mainly used in mobile products. Although the source of this statement is unknown, Apple's high-end Macbook notebooks do use Iris Pro integrated graphics the most, while other companies use it less. The only time the Iris Pro integrated graphics card appeared in a desktop processor was the 14nm Broadwell processor. The Core i7-5775C is equipped with the GT3e-level Iris Pro 6200 integrated graphics card. Actual measurements show that the GPU performance easily beats the AMD A10-7870K. However, the good days of Iris Pro integrated graphics may be over. There have been rumors recently that Intel may cut off the Iris Pro product line, and the "proof" of this news is actually old news, which is the following Intel future processor roadmap that was previously circulated: We know that Intel will also launch Coffee Lake processors in 2018. The process technology is still 14nm, but it will be upgraded to 6 cores, which is the first time for mobile processors. The evidence for cutting off Iris Pro is that the integrated graphics in the picture is only at the GT3e level, without the GT4e integrated graphics in the Skylake processor, which means that the strongest integrated graphics will not be available. This move is considered to be a signal that Intel will cut off the Iris Pro integrated graphics. Although I personally feel that it is a bit far-fetched to conclude that Intel has cut its product line, to be honest, the status of Iris Pro integrated graphics is indeed a bit embarrassing - the cost is too high, which limits its scope of use, and the smaller the scope of application, the less conducive it is to popularization and promotion, and it is also not conducive to reducing costs. Even if the highest-end Iris Pro integrated graphics are gone, Iris and HD Graphics integrated graphics will still be there, and Intel will not give up integrated graphics.
