There were rumors not long ago that AMD would continue to ensure Ryzen processors support Windows 7. As the news spread longer and longer, both AMD and Microsoft became increasingly restless.

Now, AMD has officially announced that Ryzen processors do not support Windows 7.

In fact, it was Microsoft that first announced last year that Intel and AMD's new processors did not support Windows 7. At that time, AMD did not comment on Ryzen because various information was still confidential.

AMD now explains that they tried to verify that Ryzen processors run on Windows 7, but the results were not as good as expected, so they decided to only optimize for Windows 10.

Of course, this statement actually means that Ryzen can be started with Win7 (after all, the 7th generation APU is also a 300 series motherboard), but because the support at the driver and other software levels is half-crippled, the performance is unsatisfactory.

Well, the conclusion is, if you plan to upgrade to the 7th generation Core/200 series motherboard or the Ryzen processor/300 series motherboard scheduled to be launched at the end of the month, then just upgrade to Windows 10 and don’t bother.
