On February 12, according to foreign media reports, foreign media The Information quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that Google is planning to launch a payment service called Plaso to challenge Apple Pay, which has been widely welcomed by retailers and banking institutions since its launch.

According to The Information, Plaso will allow users to complete payment operations by speaking the initials of their first and last names to their Android devices. However, it is not clear how this technology will be integrated with Google's current "Google Wallet" service. "Google Wallet" was actually launched much earlier than Apple Pay, but the service has not been widely accepted by the market in the past few years.

The Information's report also mentioned Square, another mobile payment solution company that was squeezed by Apple Pay. In fact, as a pioneer in the field of mobile payments, Square's products and services are also threatened by Amazon, PayPal and other mobile payment products. The news pointed out that Square is currently developing an Android tablet device of its own brand as an alternative to the current iPad-based payment terminal system and will sell it independently.
