Developers can now submit Apple Watch apps

Apple announced on Tuesday that all registered developers can now submit Apple Watch apps based on WatchKit to the App Store. Last week, a large number of well-known apps have been updated to support Apple Watch, and the review process has been included in Apple's developer program.

Apple has updated the WatchKit development website and detailed how developers can optimize the design and development of Apple Watch apps, including the app name, description, icon, screenshots, keywords, version number, and build number. In addition to the existing applications in the App Store, Apple Watch apps must be reviewed according to procedures before being put on the shelves.

A select group of testers and reviewers will have access to the apps until April 24, unless the developer sets the app's release date to "manual" and updates it on a scheduled date. Apple Watch apps currently in the App Store include Evernote, Sky Guide, Dark Sky, Target, NYTimes, Procreate Pocket, Yahoo Tourney Pick'em, ECB Cricket, The Wall Street Journal, MLB.com at Bat, and Expedia.
