The biggest highlight of Android M: one less reason to root

For various reasons, most Android users always want to obtain ROOT administrator privileges after getting their devices, one of which is to control the use of application permissions. But now there is good news. According to Bloomberg, Google is planning to launch a major improvement at the I/O Developer Conference held in San Francisco on the 28th of this month, allowing users to control the permissions that each application can call when installing, such as using the camera, obtaining contact information, obtaining location information, etc.

There are rumors that the Android M system may debut at this conference.

Google has always been committed to providing users with clearer information about application permissions. Last year, it improved the permission items of PlayStore applications before downloading and installing them. Now it seems that Google is taking further measures to give users more choices.

Although there are many housekeeper apps on the market that claim to be able to control app permissions without rooting, the actual effect is not ideal. If users want to completely restrict the permissions of an app, they still need rooting. Although Google is expected to open up permission control to users, the problem is:

—How to implement it in areas where there is no Google service and PlayStore is not available;

— Whether permission control can be changed again after installation;

— Inexperienced users may disable key permissions by mistake, causing the app to malfunction;

—Whether PC operations can also be synchronized to mobile devices.

For more details, we'll have to wait for Google to reveal them.
