APP UI design trends: moving for good design

Pleasing animation has become a must for an app, and as a designer, you naturally have to follow the trend and learn. Animation in an app can be divided into two categories. One is transition animation, which is applied to page switching, loading, etc. This type of animation can soften the transition effect of the page and increase the fun of the switching, loading, and waiting process. The other is feedback reminders, which enhance the user's interactive perception or guide the user to complete the task through the animation of elements in the interface.

Motion effects are full of imagination of designers’ experience. As a designer, no matter where your level is, an interesting, loving and personalized progress bar is the love you cannot refuse in your design career. So when does a designer need to do a motion effect design?

1. Waiting requires a meaningful animation. When it comes to waiting, we always lack patience. Personalized and interesting animations can make users like your design: at least this design is not bad.

Below are some common motion effect design methods. When we are under the right conditions, we should naturally consider starting with these methods to add a touch of dynamism to our designs.

1. Replace elements with personalized content

People are already familiar with traditional waiting or loading animations. If you want to make people's eyes shine, a makeover is necessary. For example, Google uses its own colors, and Qunar uses its own logo. These can highlight the product brand while personalizing the animation, which is a good choice.

In addition to rotational motion, we can also use repetition, construction, deformation, objectification, human movements (turning pages), etc. As long as the elements are consistent with the product positioning, we can give it a unique creative movement.

Cold clicks and appearances often fail to attract users' attention. Therefore, when we need to strengthen certain elements to guide users, we can add appropriate appearance effects to these elements, such as fading in and out, displacement, zooming in and out, halo, distribution and other effects, which will have a good guiding effect.

The subtlety of motion design lies in the instant experience. Through the instant visible changes, people's feelings when using the app are enriched, no longer strange, no longer cold, no longer boring, etc. While giving elements movement, I think motion design must also conform to people's cognition. Not all movements can make people happy. It must not only meet the needs of the product, but also match people's demands for the scene at the time.
