On September 5, according to The Information, sources revealed that after a lapse of five years, Google will be allowed to launch a special version of the Google Play app store in China as early as this fall.

People familiar with the matter revealed that this fall, Google hopes to obtain approval from the Chinese government to create a special version of the app store to meet the needs of the Chinese market and store data in the mainland in order to enter China after passing government review.

It is reported that this special version of the app store will provide applications for Android phones and Android Wear devices.

There have been rumors that the Chinese version of Moto X Play will come with Google Play apps. This rumor coincides with Google Play's return to China. If the report is true, Google will open a new chapter in mainland China.
