Google will acquire mobile app development platform Divshot, whose products will be integrated into its cloud service subsidiary Firebase in the future. Divshot executives have confirmed the news through Firebase. It is also confirmed that the Divshot service will be officially shut down on December 14, 2015. "Looking forward, the team will focus all its energy on helping Firebase Hosting provide a better experience for developers," said Michael Bleigh, a Divshot engineer.

Divshot will soon provide guidance for current users on how to migrate to Firebase. In addition, the company also released a Firebase command line interface today, which will allow developers to easily call Divshot's open source Superstatic library locally.

According to earlier news, Divshot has received venture capital totaling approximately US$1.8 million from multiple investors.
