Extend new energy subsidies, build charging facilities, and Jiangsu is the first to complete the province-wide coverage of charging piles

For the popularization and promotion of electric vehicles, the most effective means is undoubtedly to build a complete infrastructure such as charging stations in the early stage to reduce consumers' concerns about purchasing electric vehicles.

Electric cars are called "electric dads" by many users, which is a concentrated reflection of consumers' anxiety about battery life. A complete and convenient charging infrastructure may have a more direct impact on consumers than car purchase subsidies.

Recently, State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co., Ltd. stated that 4,838 new charging piles have been built in 1,073 townships across Jiangsu Province, becoming the first province in the country to achieve full township coverage of charging facilities and solve the range anxiety problem of township residents.

In 2020, the number of new energy vehicles in Jiangsu exceeded 200,000, and the number of charging piles was close to 100,000, both ranking among the top in the country.

Statistics from the State Grid Corporation of China show that approximately 90% of charging stations across the country are built in communities. The inconvenience of charging in towns and rural areas has affected the sales of electric vehicles in remote areas.

In response to this, State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power actively responded to the country's new infrastructure strategy and increased investment in charging facilities. In 2020, it spent 370 million yuan to continuously optimize the province's charging network, promote the coverage of charging facilities in townships, and build 4,838 charging piles in public parking spaces in townships.

In addition, Jiangsu Province’s promotional policies for new energy vehicles have also promoted the development of electric vehicles.

In September last year, Jiangsu Province issued a document to extend the new energy subsidy policy, which was originally due to expire at the end of 2020, for two years. In principle, new and updated vehicles in the province's public transportation, parking lot transfers, logistics distribution vehicles and other fields will give priority to the use of new energy and clean energy vehicles.

In the construction of urban charging facilities and new energy parking spaces, Jiangsu Province has adopted policies to encourage the formulation of free parking for new energy vehicles, and stipulated that among urban public parking spaces, the proportion of special parking spaces for new energy vehicles equipped with charging facilities must not be less than 10%, and encouraged the government to invest in public parking lots to provide free one-hour parking for new energy vehicles.

In addition, for those who replace old models and purchase new energy passenger vehicles, subsidies will be provided during the epidemic period at a rate of 1.5 times the original standard but not less than 3,000 yuan.

Jiangsu Province has taken active measures in many aspects, such as the construction of new infrastructure for new energy charging facilities and new energy vehicle promotion policies, which have greatly accelerated the pace of vehicle electrification in the province. The purchase and ownership of new energy vehicles have repeatedly set new highs.
