Microsoft upgrades App Studio to make everyone a programmer

The author of this article also used App Studio to make a simple app in less than 10 minutes: an "upgrade" app that tracks his own blog and YouTube social activity—calling the Tumblr RSS feed and the YouTube browser API, respectively. While the app isn't more efficient at checking Twitter updates, it's a functional app. He had never thought about developing an app before, but App Studio helped him do every step, and it was really easy.

App Studio may not help you develop a business-ready app or game, but it is pretty good for making simple companion apps. Even better, this app is a universal app that can run on WP devices, tablets, desktops, laptops, and IoT devices.
