I wrote an article before called "How to Promote a New App", which mentioned that 200 channels should be laid out in App promotion, but I didn't write specifically about how to find channels. In this article, I want to write separately about how to find more channels. After all, if an App wants to get more users without spending money, laying out channels is a very important task.

So if we want to lay out channels well, we must have a clear understanding of the concept of channels. The so-called channels are any media that can bring traffic or users. We can call them channels. For example, the WiFi page on the bus, the QR code scan download on the newspaper, and the software classification area of ​​the browser can all be called channels. We should not just call the app store a channel. The broader we define the concept of channels and the more thorough our understanding, the more channels we can find when we are looking for channels. Otherwise, too narrow an understanding will constrain our thinking and affect the scope of finding channels.

So what are the benefits of laying channels? The most direct benefit is that it can bring more users to our App. The second benefit is that it can bring more popularity to the App. We can think about it. The more channels we have, the more search engines will include our App. When users search for related keywords, we will have more chances to leak our products. In addition, when we introduce our products to users, as soon as users search for our products, they will find them on many websites. This also reflects that we are very popular. So these benefits are obvious.

The third benefit is that when we do brand marketing one day, channels can pave the way for these efforts. Currently, many companies like to build their brands first, but the channel work is not done well. A lot of PR is done online, but when users search for their products, they cannot find the download address for a long time. In this way, the PR is almost in vain. Therefore, laying channels can complement the work of marketing.

Below I will introduce some previous methods of finding channels to help you find more channels when laying channels.

1. Website navigation

Everyone knows URL navigation, such as hao123, 265 and the like. Generally, when a new website is launched for promotion, it will be submitted to the URL navigation. Then the URL navigation will include many websites and classify the websites. We can then look for websites that can bring us traffic. Moreover, the more well-known the website navigation is, the more likely it is that the sites with large traffic will be placed on the navigation homepage. At this time, we can first look for cooperation with those sites on the homepage of the URL navigation. We can think about it from their perspective. If you were the editor of the URL navigation, you would definitely put sites with large traffic and high popularity on the homepage. Therefore, there is absolutely no problem in cooperating with sites with large URL navigation homepages.

2. Friendly Links

The second trick is friendship links. Generally, when we find an app store website, we will see a friendship link page at the bottom of the website, which will link more websites of the same type. We can follow the friendship link to see another website, and then click on the friendship link of another website to go to the third website. If we keep searching, we will find many websites of the same type. If a website has 10 friendship links, then click three times to jump, which is 300 sites. This is an estimation method. After deduplication and exclusion of some unnecessary websites, we can quickly find more channels in this way. 3. Website rankings

We can go and see which URLs are ranked high, and then cooperate with them. What are the characteristics of websites with higher rankings? I can tell you a few points. One is large traffic, the second is high popularity, and the third is high weight. I guess everyone knows the first two. I can explain the third one, high weight. Search engines will score a website. The higher the score, the higher the weight of the website, and the faster and more frequent the search engine crawls. At the same time, the higher the ranking position in the search results, the higher the position. When users search for major information on search engines, generally high-weighted websites will appear at the front, such as Sina, Baidu, Sohu, etc. This is the reason. So if our App can be submitted to these high-ranking websites, then in the search results, we will also be displayed at the front. This is actually a good SEO, so there are many benefits to finding a high-weighted website to submit our App.

4. Competitor counter-check

There are many apps nowadays, and some of them are better than ours, but we don’t know why. We can use this method to do analysis, and we can also use this method to find channels to surpass competitors. For example, we are all input methods, and Sogou input method is better than ours. We can use backlinks to find out how they are better than us, and which channels they have used that we have not. The specific query syntax is: domain:XXX.XXX.com, where XXX.XXX.com represents the domain name of the competitor we want to query. In this way, we can find out how many search engine backlinks this domain has, and which websites are linked to this website. By comparison, we can find that we have used all the channels that we have not used, and we have surpassed them in all the areas where they are good, so we may surpass them in terms of channels. In addition to the above efforts to find, you can also make more friends, especially friends in channels. When the relationship is good, you can exchange experiences on channels. We must know that a person's vision is sometimes limited. Through our network of contacts, we can broaden our horizons and expand more high-quality channels. 6. Network resource collection

Another way to find more channels is to collect online resources. You may not know that there are many good people on the Internet who always collect various resource collections. 7. Careful collection in daily life

In addition to the above methods, you should observe and collect more in your daily life, because in addition to many online channel resources, there are also many offline channels. For example, once I was taking a bus, I found that after the wifi on the bus was connected, there was a software recommendation page that recommended many apps. This is actually also a channel. There are so many buses in the country, and so many people take them every day. If everyone is bored on the bus, they will download apps or something. If your app can be put on this channel, it can also bring more volume. In addition, some business halls of China Telecom and China Unicom will also recommend many apps. This is also a channel. Many new users who go to the business halls have their apps on their mobile phones installed by the customer service of the business halls. These are also channels. Of course, there are more offline resources, which are the channels we are looking for. As long as we find them and find ways to get on these channels, it is possible to bring more users, especially some channels with particularly large volumes, but no one has noticed them.

In addition, some of these low-key channels are free. If you discover them first, you may get more users for free. In fact, many channels in reality are free at the beginning, but as more people discover them and the channels become smarter, they become paid. So it is still good to discover them early. Once they are made public and known to everyone, the chance of getting them for free is probably slim, so everyone should take the initiative.

The above are some tips and methods for finding channels. If you can learn these tips and methods and put them into practice, I think it will be no problem to find hundreds of channels. Of course, if you can find a few large channels that others don’t know about, you can easily get tens of thousands of users.
