Apple finally found its way: revelations from iOS 9.3 beta

With iOS, Apple is doing something that most OS developers don't realize is bringing something to the platform that people actually want and care about.

Not a good start

To put it bluntly, iOS 9 gave a very bad first impression. Since the new version was officially launched, various problems have been plaguing users who upgraded first.

First of all, its performance on older devices is always accompanied by obvious lags. Although it is still smoother than other systems, for iOS, which has always been invincible in people's impression of smoothness, any problem is very concerning and does affect the experience.

In addition, a series of bugs such as application crashes and flashbacks, keyboard hide-and-seek, and copy/paste menu tsundere also occur from time to time. Although these are not fatal, they are often enough to drive people crazy.

iOS 9.1 is a huge improvement over the original version, but it is still far from perfect. Although the fluency and stability have improved to a certain extent, problems such as text misalignment, icon displacement, unstable Wi-Fi signal, iTunes application backup failure, etc. still bother many users.

Everything has finally improved significantly in iOS 9.2. Compared with the previous version, iOS 9.2 has further improved in terms of fluency. The lag phenomenon when entering the multitasking interface and switching tasks no longer occurs, and the fluency when pulling down the Spotlight search box is also much better. From the actual experience, iOS 9.2 is already a mature version, but we did not expect that iOS 9.3 beta can still bring surprises.

Surprise Arrival

The biggest new feature of the new system is Night Shift. Apple attempts to reduce the blue light of the device to prevent it from affecting the user's biological clock.

Through the clock and GPS, iOS devices will determine whether the sun has set and adjust the color temperature accordingly. This feature is very practical for night owls, at least our lives can be a little healthier.

Overall, iOS 9.3 beta gives a very fast and smooth experience, and there are no obvious bugs. Most importantly, Wi-Fi and mobile networks are also very normal.

For those who like to save important information in notes, the new encryption mechanism will definitely make them happy, especially when users can even unlock it with Touch ID. Another interesting new feature is photo backup, which means I have more control over my photos without worrying about compromising the original one.

You may have also heard that iOS 9.3 can hide app icons. That's true, but it's not for everyone because it relies on Apple Configurator software, which is for business and education users. From this point of view, Apple may fully open this feature in subsequent versions in the future.

One of the most surprising things is that people can be so excited about the new features in a beta version - not those professionals, but the most ordinary users. Many people may not know how much memory their computer has, and don’t care what new features Windows 10 has, but they obviously care about the changes brought by iOS 9.3.

The future may be better

Through iOS 9.3 beta, we can see that Apple may be on the right track. The new version brings the features that people want and need most. In fact, iOS 9.3 does not bring any radical changes, but people are still excited.

Apple rarely packs so many major new features into such a small update, so does this mean that future iOS updates will be bigger and we won't have to wait a whole year for new features? We hope so.

It is important to remember that iOS 9.3 is still in beta testing, which means that many things are not perfect yet. If you are worried about various problems that may arise in the future, it is better not to try the beta version first. What we see from the iOS 9.3 beta version is a good trend, but it does not mean that you can completely use it as the official version. Based on the experience of Fengyou, the obvious increase in power consumption is a defect in iOS 9.3 beta. Of course, if you don’t care about the risks and power consumption, but are only interested in fluency and new features, then you might as well give it a try.
