Mobvoi launches the "Mobvoi App Store", Android Wear is gaining popularity

On January 25, 2016, Mobvoi held the first "Mobvoi Creation Day" smart wearable developer conference in Beijing. The conference brought together executives and technical experts from technology giants such as Google and Motorola, as well as top product technology teams and developers from home and abroad.

Google Product Manager Oli Gaymond, Google Asia Pacific Developer Relations Director Tony Chan, Moji Weather, Alipay, Sogou Maps, Magic Watch, independent developer Dheera Venkatraman and other top developers at home and abroad shared their practical experience and thoughts on wearable development, and made wonderful presentations to more than 100 top product and technology teams in China.

At the conference, Mobvoi CEO Li Zhifei announced that Mobvoi and Android Wear have reached an official cooperation on smartwatch app stores, and the "Mobvoi App Store" has become the official partner of Android Wear in China. The "Mobvoi App Store" is the second time that Mobvoi has cooperated with Google on the smart wearable platform to improve the Chinese user experience, following the "Mobvoi App Store" becoming the built-in voice search engine of the Android Wear Chinese version.

David Singleton, global vice president of Google, said that smartwatches are a combination of fashion and technology, and Google has great expectations for smartwatches. The smartwatch ecosystem is very important for user experience. "I really appreciate the innovation of smartwatches in China, and the launch of 'Ask App Store' will provide Chinese users with a better wearable experience."

How to develop truly touching works on small-screen devices? At this developer conference, top developers from China and the United States shared their views on smart watch application development. Bao Yueqian, Vice President of Technology at Moji Weather, has a deep understanding of smartwatch interaction: "Watch applications are by no means just a migration of mobile phone functions. We need to have special interactive thinking for this screen that is closer to people." Wu Chao, Product Manager of Alipay, introduced a new function that makes smartwatches more convenient to pay: "Paying with a watch is already very convenient, but on this basis, we have developed offline payment to make convenience the best possible." Sun Junyi, Product Manager of Sogou Maps, believes that smartwatches have a natural advantage for in-car navigation, and people should think deeply about the relationship between smartwatches and the Internet of Vehicles. Regarding smartwatch dials, Tang Kaifeng, Product Manager of Magic Dial, said, "The biggest advantage of smartwatches is the rich gameplay. As the first entrance to smartwatches, the dial can have a lot of interactions." Dheera Venkatraman, an independent overseas developer, emphasized that developers should pay special attention to the difference between watches and mobile phones, and develop smartwatches based on the characteristics of smartwatches being close to the human body and easier to perceive.
