Android Wear 2.0 preview: new single sign-on feature

Android Wear 2.0 preview: new single sign-on feature

In the recently released Android Wear 2.0 developer preview, some features of the earlier versions of the platform have been returned, while some new features have been introduced. The most noteworthy new feature is single-sign-on, which allows users to open an authenticated screen on their phone by clicking a button on their watch. The watch app can also be used directly to authenticate and log into the server. This Android Wear feature is available for both iOS and Android systems.

Other features for developers include in-app purchases for Wear apps and promotion of Wear apps on other devices' Play Stores. Google said the developer preview was adjusted based on developer feedback, and the biggest change is the return of the ability to swipe through notifications and apps, without having to press the physical button on the watch to return. This may cause some trouble when using Android Wear 2.0, at least that's what foreign media editors experienced when using the preview.
