Apple executives: We will not consider supporting multiple users for Face ID in the short term

Apple's current Face ID only supports a single user and cannot support multiple faces. According to Apple's head of software engineering Craig Federighi, Face ID will not support multi-user mode in the future. In contrast, Apple's Touch ID can support the entry of 5 fingers, each finger can be a different person. This means that family members can easily access each other's devices. For example, a couple can jointly enter their fingerprints into an iPhone for easy access.

Craig Federighi mentioned in an email to users that Touch ID was never designed for multiple people, and Apple's idea is to let one person use Touch ID. At the same time, he also mentioned that Face ID may support multiple users in the future, but Apple has no plans to implement this feature at present.

In actual use, Face ID is relatively safe and reliable. However, it does not support multi-user use at present. At the same time, Apple also stated that Face ID is more secure than Touch ID.
