HTC is laying off employees crazily around the world: will exit the smartphone industry!

[[220402]]

It's really sad that the former king of Android phones (many people's first Android phone was HTC) has now fallen to this situation.

According to US media reports, after Zhang Jialin, chairman of the mobile phone business, was laid off, most members of HTC's US team were also fired, leaving only a few employees in charge of the company's global affairs.

Regarding layoffs, HTC stated that this was mainly to accelerate the merger of VR departments and smartphone departments in various regions around the world.

However, the truth is not as simple as they say. This move is to completely withdraw from the smartphone business. For HTC, its smartphones have fallen into an embarrassing position. Not only are sales very poor, but the speed of launching new products is also getting slower and slower. Of course, let alone the profits brought by this part, it has always been losing money (losses for 10 consecutive quarters).

For HTC, they have already sold most of the elites of their mobile department to Google, so it is not surprising that they completely withdraw from the mobile phone business.
