Ten years have passed, Tencent announced: WebQQ will stop service on January 1, 2019

Recently, Tencent QQ web version official website announced that due to business adjustments, webQQ will stop service on January 1, 2019. It is recommended to download QQ client at im.qq.com. Thank you for your support for QQ.

WebQQ was launched in September 2009. It is a web-based QQ service launched by Tencent. It does not require downloading and installing QQ software. As long as you can open the WebQQ website, you can log in to QQ and keep in touch with friends. It has the inherent convenience of Web products and maintains the operating habits of client software to the greatest extent on the Web.

On September 30, 2014, users who logged into Tencent WebQQ saw an announcement page that read "WebQQ farewell, we will meet again sometimes, but never again." This indicated that WebQQ was about to cease service.

Now Tencent has announced that it will completely shut down the WebQQ service on January 1, 2019.
