Huawei files lawsuit in the US: ban is "legislation instead of trial"

According to CCTV News Client on the 29th, Huawei has filed a lawsuit and will file a motion for summary judgment on Tuesday. Huawei released a statement from Song Liuping, the chief legal officer of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. on the 27th. The statement is as follows:

Huawei has filed a lawsuit and will file a motion for summary judgment on Tuesday, asking the court to declare the bill unconstitutional. The ban is a classic bill of attainder that violates due process.

The bill directly convicted Huawei of a crime and imposed a large number of restrictions on Huawei. Its purpose is obvious, which is to drive Huawei out of the US market. This is a tyranny of "using legislation instead of trial", which is clearly prohibited by the US Constitution.

We hope that the U.S. courts will declare the Huawei ban unconstitutional and prohibit its enforcement, just as they have done in previous cases involving attainder clauses and due process violations.

This statement was also published in the Wall Street Journal and other media.
