Apple's four new systems are compatible with all devices, and the SE is not abandoned

Apple officially released iOS 13 today, with new features including Dark Mode, a new photo app, a reminder app, and new privacy protection features. Apple has now listed the device compatibility of iOS 13 in detail on its official website.

Devices that support iOS 13 are:

  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPod touch (7th generation)

Compared to last year's iOS 12, Apple has dropped support for the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus. But contrary to earlier rumors, the iPhone SE is still supported by this year's iOS 13. The iPod touch 6th generation was also eliminated due to its age.

  • 12.9-inch iPad Pro
  • 11-inch iPad Pro
  • 10.5-inch iPad Pro
  • 9.7-inch iPad Pro
  • iPad (6th generation)
  • iPad (5th generation)
  • iPad mini (5th generation)
  • iPad mini 4
  • iPad Air (3rd generation)

As for macOS 10.15 (Catalina), the following Macs can be updated and installed:

  • 12-inch MacBook
  • MacBook Air, 2012 and later
  • MacBook Pro, 2012 and later
  • Mac mini, 2012 and later
  • iMac, 2012 and later
  • iMac Pro
  • Mac Pro, 2013 and later

This means that almost all Macs that can be updated to Mojave can continue to upgrade to Catalina, so everyone can rest assured. macOS Catalina provides new music, podcasts and TV apps, photo interface updates, a new Reminders app, an extended desktop in Safari, Markdown syntax support, as well as screen time and a new "Find My" app for logging into macOS.

Of course, there is also a list of compatible devices for watchOS 6. watchOS 6 will be compatible with Apple Watch Series 1, 2, 3 and 4, and requires iPhone 6s and above and iOS 13 and above.

However, the situation with watchOS is rather special, and it should be noted that not all Apple Watches that are compatible with the new system can use the full functionality of watchOS 6, and Apple has not yet provided detailed explanations.
