You can chat on QQ, no ads! WeChat's new function is popular and netizens have great comments

Now you can log in to QQ and receive messages on WeChat. Tencent's move quickly became a hot topic on Weibo.

Some netizens complained: " Take off your pants and give up mode", "The son has bought out his father". Another netizen said, "Can I finally uninstall QQ?"

Recently, a small program called "Tencent QQ" quietly appeared on the WeChat platform, allowing users to view QQ messages directly on WeChat.

"It made Zhang Xiaolong silent and Ma Huateng cry. WeChat has been around for 8 years and mini programs have been around for almost 3 years. Shenzhen and Guangzhou are not far apart, but it feels like there is the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in between..." commented a blogger.

It is reported that searching for the "Tencent QQ" WeChat applet requires authorization and binding of a QQ number to obtain normal services. Clicking "Authorize Now" will automatically jump to the "QQ Login" applet, and the login interface is very similar to QQ itself.

Currently, the WeChat mini-program version of QQ has two main functions: receiving messages and switching accounts. It does not support direct replying to messages. You can click the "Open mobile QQ reply" button at the bottom of the chat page, reply "1" in the customer service session, and click the link to jump to mobile QQ.

Obviously, the functions of this mini program are not perfect and can only play an auxiliary role, convenient for those users who have uninstalled QQ or do not use QQ frequently.

Before the emergence of WeChat in 2011, Chinese people mainly communicated through QQ. But now many working people no longer use QQ. Its main users have become those born after 1995 and 2000, and WeChat has become China's largest chat software.

QQ is no longer popular among working professionals. There are many reasons for this, including being too bloated and too childish. Coupled with its integration with WeChat Pay, it is no surprise that its user base has declined.

Tencent's third quarter 2019 financial report shows that QQ's monthly active accounts were 731 million, down 8.9% year-on-year. The combined monthly active accounts of WeChat and WeChat reached 1.151 billion, up 6% year-on-year, and the gap is already very obvious.

According to a Weibo poll initiated by Sina Technology, 8.7% of users have uninstalled/abandoned QQ, 37% occasionally check online, 21.9% use it frequently, and 32.3% use both WeChat and QQ.
