iOS 15.5 official version has a big bug that will eat up all your data

iOS 15.5 official version has a big bug that will eat up all your data

Half a month ago, Apple released the official version of iOS15.5. It seems that there are many updated contents, but in fact it has little to do with domestic users. At that time, it warned everyone that if the system in your hand is still smooth, there is no need to upgrade. I don’t know if you listened to it at that time. If you didn’t upgrade, congratulations on avoiding a big BUG. If you upgraded, then "congratulations" to you, no matter how much traffic you have, it will be eaten up. What’s going on?

Recently, some netizens revealed that after upgrading their iPhones to iOS15.5, the [Time and Place] option in the Cellular Network-System Service showed extremely abnormal data consumption, with at least several hundred megabytes consumed every day, and sometimes even several gigabytes. Although WiFi is now relatively common, there will always be times when data is used, which will undoubtedly cause unnecessary economic losses to users.

Moreover, this is not an isolated case. Similar situations have been reported on some social media by iPhone users who have upgraded to iOS 15.5. Some users have reported that more than 20G of traffic has been consumed so far, and there are many users with around 10G. Once the traffic is consumed, if you don't recharge it, you won't be able to access the Internet if there is no WiFi. If you recharge it, it will be quickly consumed again. If you say that this traffic is used up by the user himself, there is nothing to complain about, but it is consumed abnormally by the system. There is no doubt that Apple should take the blame for this, but so far Apple has not made any response to this issue.

The question now is whether everyone who upgrades to iOS15.5 will encounter this situation without exception, or only some users will encounter it. If it is the former, it is indeed rare. iOS15 is nearing its end, and it still encounters this system bug that seriously affects the user experience and causes economic losses. The work attitude and ability of Apple engineers are indeed worthy of questioning.

Since there are related problems, affected users must be in urgent need of solutions. Some people have consulted Apple's senior technical consultants and got the following three temporary solutions:

1. Dual-SIM users swap card slots, and single-SIM users re-insert and unplug the SIM card.

2. Settings-Privacy-Location Services-System Services-Network and Wireless-Off

3. Settings - Wireless LAN - Apps using wireless LAN and cellular networks - Settings - Close

From the response given by Apple technicians, it can be seen that these people cannot come up with any good solutions for the time being, because turning off network services will not only affect navigation, but also affect the use of some apps. Moreover, some users have reported that following this method has no effect and traffic is still being consumed rapidly.

What's more troublesome is that the verification of iOS15.4.1 has been closed, and downgrading is no longer possible. iOS15.6 is still in the testing phase, and a rash upgrade may encounter some unknown bugs, so iOS15.5 users are currently in a rather embarrassing situation.

Of course, Apple will definitely fix this problem in the next system version (there is no doubt about that), but some people speculate online that this is Apple's way of forcing users to upgrade. Do you think it is possible?
