iOS 16.2 quasi-official version released, karaoke function is here

iOS 16.2 quasi-official version released, karaoke function is here

Early this morning, Apple pushed the iOS 16.2 RC version update, only one week away from the last beta version. The version number of this update is 20C65.

Users who are using the iOS 16.2 beta version can upgrade to the latest version directly in the software update. The RC version is what we call the quasi-official version. It is the last test version before the official version is released. The update content is likely to be the same as the official version.

Let’s take a look at the changes in this iOS 16.2 RC version.

This iOS 16.2 RC version mainly brings the "Apple Music Sing" function officially announced by Apple yesterday, which is the karaoke function of Apple Music. Please note that you need to be a member user to use this function.

Now upgrade to iOS 16.2 RC version, this feature is also officially launched in your Apple Music. Users who have subscribed to Apple Music membership can find this function option in the lyrics interface.

After turning on the function, the song will only play the accompaniment, and users can sing along through the headset. The usage method is similar to the karaoke function of other music software.

Friends who are interested can go and experience it. For friends who don’t have Apple Music membership, the editor will continue to share with you the current method of obtaining Apple Music membership: "Get Apple Music membership for free, up to 4 months."

In addition to the karaoke function, this iOS 16.2 RC version also launched multiple security updates, including iCloud Advanced Data Protection, through which Apple can protect users' personal data stored in iCloud. However, this feature is currently only available to users in the United States and will be launched in China in 2023.

Previously, Apple adjusted the AirDrop function to only allow domestic users to enable it for everyone for ten minutes. After ten minutes, AirDrop will automatically switch back to "Contacts Only" mode. In the iOS 16.2 RC version, this change has been pushed to users around the world.

In addition, Apple also released the iOS 15.7.2 RC version update today, which focused on repairing and optimizing existing issues.

Update suggestion: If nothing unexpected happens, the update content of iOS 16.2 RC version and official version is the same. If you are currently using iOS 16.2 beta version and want to upgrade to the official version, you can delete the beta version description file and wait for the official version to be released to receive push notifications. You can also upgrade directly to RC version, but if you upgrade to RC version, you will not receive push notifications from the official version.
