Ubuntu 23.10 release episode: ISO image urgently "recalled" due to hate speech

Shortly after Ubuntu 23.10 was released today, hate speech from a malicious contributor was discovered in a specific set of translations for its desktop installer UI.

Canonical immediately "recalled" the released ISO images after the official announcement, and said that new images will be released after the correction is completed. The affected images that were deleted include Ubuntu Desktop 23.10, Ubuntu Budgie 23.10 and Ubuntu Desktop daily builds.

Officials said that this incident only affects a set of translations in the desktop installer, and the system and data will not be affected. If you upgrade to Ubuntu 23.10 from an older version without a fresh installation, you will not be affected either.
