A forest fire broke out near Zhongwan Village, Huangchen Town, Cheng County, Longnan City, Gansu Province. The vegetation at the fire site is mainly Pinus tabulaeformis forest, and the terrain is mountainous with an altitude of 1,480 meters.

Following a notification from the local Emergency Management Bureau, at 16:07, 26 people from the Chengxian Squadron of the Wudu Battalion of the Longnan City Forest Fire Brigade arrived at the fire scene at 17:05. At 16:42, the detachment's forward command led a total of 58 people from the Wudu Squadron to the fire scene to provide reinforcements. It is understood that 60 people from the Tianshui Brigade of the detachment are also on standby and ready to provide reinforcements. At present, due to the steep mountain and darkness, personnel cannot get close, so the joint command decided that all firefighting personnel should rest on the spot and start firefighting at dawn on February 19.

After arriving at the fire scene, the forest fire command team began to understand the fire situation and organized a fire scene investigation. It is understood that the fire terrain is mountainous, with vegetation mainly consisting of Pinus tabulaeformis, an average altitude of 1,480 meters, and a slope of more than 70 degrees. The fire site is full of cliffs and rocks roll down from time to time, making it difficult for the commanders to approach the fire site, extinguish the open flames, and clear the remaining smoke.
