According to the People's Daily, on March 23rd local time, the World Health Organization released the 63rd COVID-19 briefing. The briefing showed that as of 10:00 Central European Time on the 23rd (17:00 Beijing time on the 23rd), countries had reported a total of 332,930 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 40,788 new cases, 14,510 deaths, with 1,727 new cases. There are 251,329 confirmed cases of COVID-19 outside China.

At a press conference that day, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that more than 300,000 confirmed cases have been reported to WHO, and almost all countries have been affected. The COVID-19 pandemic is spreading at an accelerating rate. It took 67 days from the first reported case to the 100,000 case, 11 days from 100,000 to 200,000, and only 4 days from 200,000 to 300,000 cases.
