The Shanghai Municipal Health Commission announced this morning: From 0:00 to 24:00 on June 27, 1 confirmed case of imported COVID-19 was reported through the port joint prevention and control mechanism. One additional case was cured and discharged from hospital, from Mexico. The case is a Chinese national who works in the United States. He departed from the United States on June 24 and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on June 25. After entering the country, he was immediately placed in centralized quarantine and observation, during which he developed symptoms. Based on the epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging examination results, the patient was diagnosed as a confirmed case. The confirmed imported case has been transferred to a designated medical institution for treatment. 61 close contacts on the same flight have been traced and all have been placed under centralized quarantine and observation.
