While taking a stroll, I unexpectedly discovered dinosaur fossils. It sounds like a coincidence, but in Heyuan, the "hometown of dinosaurs," it seems quite logical.
According to a recent report by @JiupaiNews, on the afternoon of January 14, Jiang Anchun, deputy curator of the Heyuan City Museum in Guangdong Province, unexpectedly discovered dinosaur egg fossils while taking his child for a walk near Heyi Road .
After seeing the dinosaur egg fossil, he took photos and sent them to the research institute. The institute's staff rushed to the site to check and finally confirmed that there was a complete dinosaur egg fossil. In addition, there were three other eggs embedded in the surrounding rock that needed to be confirmed, and five other egg imprints with eggshell fossils.
It is understood that these fossils were unearthed during blasting operations at a nearby construction site. That same evening, the dinosaur egg fossils were transported back to the research institute for restoration. Further research will be conducted later, and the fossils will then be exhibited at the Heyuan Dinosaur Museum.

China has several "hometowns of Chinese dinosaurs", including Zigong in Sichuan, Zhucheng in Shandong, Lufeng in Yunnan, and Ganzhou in Jiangxi , as well as Heyuan in Guangdong, among which Heyuan is the most famous.
In 1996, the first dinosaur egg fossil was unearthed in Heyuan. Since then, it has become a major site for the discovery and collection of dinosaur egg fossils worldwide, and it is also a rare place in the world where dinosaur egg fossils, dinosaur fossils, and dinosaur footprint fossils have been discovered at the same time.
Netizens commented: "You can find dinosaur fossils just by going out for a walk. No wonder it's called the hometown of dinosaurs. You also need to have professional knowledge. Otherwise, even if I saw it, I wouldn't think it was a dinosaur egg fossil."
