According to the Business Call, the deceased panda was named "Lele" and was 25 years old.
The report also stated that the cause of Lele's death "has not yet been determined" and the Memphis Zoo is investigating.
Previously, according to a report by China.com on January 3 this year, reporters recently learned from the China Association of Zoological Gardens that although the two giant pandas "Ya Ya" and "Le Le" who are cooperating with the Memphis Zoo in the United States have received careful care from the zoo, they have entered old age and "Ya Ya" suffers from a skin disease. The China Association of Zoological Gardens has been actively negotiating with the US side to bring the two giant pandas back as soon as possible.

As part of the joint U.S.-China panda conservation and research program, female panda "Ya Ya" and male panda "Le Le" arrived at the Memphis Zoo in April 2003 to begin their U.S. life. The agreement was for 10 years and was extended for another 10 years after it expired in 2013.
