6 techniques for making videos, a must-read for new media operators!

Once you learn how to edit videos, you won’t be afraid to work in new media companies across the country. Next, I’ll share some video editing tips, including adding subtitles, making barrages, font effects, color gradients, playback speed, screen replay, and rewinding videos. These will instantly improve your work efficiency and definitely give your job hopping rate a boost.

1. Add subtitles to videos

Download the software "iJianJi", install it, and create a new video.

Take the black video below as an example.

Double-click the black area on the screen and a pop-up window will pop up.

In the pop-up box, enter text to add sound effects. After adding subtitles and recording, click [OK].

Click [Font Settings] to set the font, font size, color, arrangement, etc.

Click [Special Effect Parameters] to set the time for subtitles to appear, stay, and disappear.

The default setting is 2 seconds for each subtitle, so the total subtitle duration is 6 seconds.

You can adjust the specific time appropriately according to the length of the subtitles. If you want the subtitles to be long, set it longer.

Finally, you can play it to see the effect. If it is too short, you can adjust the subtitle duration in [Special Effects Parameters].

If the subtitles are not centered, you can move them to adjust them. The specific subtitle time can be seen in the lower right corner.

Of course, this time must be consistent with the playback time of the added picture. For example, if the subtitle is 6 seconds, the picture time must also be 6 seconds.

Quick Cut

Suitable for beginners, the software has built-in functions such as video recording, video beautification and processing, one-click sharing, etc. It supports editing, splicing, adding music, adding subtitles and transition effects. It can mix and edit videos and pictures, but does not support color adjustment and adding other dynamic effects.

2. Make barrage

Open Love Clip

1. Double-click the preview screen in the "Subtitle Effects" panel and enter the content in the pop-up box to add a set of subtitles;

2. Pull down the "Appearance Effects" list on the left side of the interface and check one of the "Special Scrolling" effects to make scrolling subtitles;

3. Set the "Appearance" duration in the "Special Effect Parameters" in the center of the interface (the duration and the length of the subtitles jointly affect the scrolling speed of the subtitles: at the same duration, the longer the subtitles, the faster they scroll; at the same length, the shorter the duration, the faster they scroll.)

After making a set of scrolling subtitles, just copy and paste it and change the content to make a bullet screen~

1. Select the subtitle (in editable state with borders) and use the shortcut keys Ctrl+C to copy;

2. Use the shortcut keys Ctrl+V to paste the subtitles, drag the subtitles to another location with the mouse, double-click, and change the content in the pop-up box;

3. If you don't want the subtitles to appear at the same time, just change the time for adding subtitles: after copying, click or hold down the direction key (the left and right keys move forward and backward 5 seconds, and the up and down keys move forward and backward frame by frame), the progress time of the video will move slightly, release the direction key, copy and change.

After completing these steps, you can get the effect of barrage~

Download the software "VideoStudio" and install it.

1. Import subtitles

Step 1: Download LRC lyrics

Step 2: Convert it to UTF or SRT format

Step 3: Click the title button in VideoStudio X9 and select "Open subtitle file" in the edit menu.

Importing subtitle files is often used for MV lyrics production. You only need to convert the existing LRC lyrics format and import them into VideoStudio with one click.

2. Change font effect

1. Border setting. Border setting is mainly used for the use of artistic words. The operation method is as follows:

Step 1: Click "Border/Shadow/Transparency" and check "External Border"

Step 2: Set the border thickness value and color

2. Transparency. The production of transparent text is mainly used for videos such as electronic photo albums. The operation method is as follows:

3. Shadows

There are 4 main types of shadows: no shadow, drooping shadow, halo shadow, and raised shadow.

No shadow means no effect.

A drop shadow is a shadow below the text.

Halo shadow is the shadow around the text

Raised shadows are just a relief effect.

The specific operations are as follows:

1. Input subtitles on the track

2. Select the subtitles, and select "Animation" - "Apply" in "Properties" in "Options"

3. Select the required animation type, click the double "T" button on the right (custom animation properties), and set the way the animation appears.

4. Once completed,

3. Gradual color effect

Open VideoStudio

The most important thing to create this effect is to create a video mask in VideoStudio. First, open VideoStudio x9, put a black block on Overlay Track 1, and adjust it to the screen size.

Place a white block on overlay track 2. The size and position of the block do not need to be adjusted for now.

Then right-click on the white block and select "Custom Action", adjust the size to 200, and adjust the Z value of rotation to 50, so that the color block is tilted.

Then adjust the positions of the start frame and the end frame to make the color block move from the lower right corner to the upper left corner. Refer to the figure below.

After production, save this action as a project file and name it "Mask".

Reopen VideoStudio, import a material image on Overlay Track 1, adjust it to the screen size, keep the aspect ratio, then find the "Old Movie Filter" in the filter library and drag it onto the image.

The filter effect can be set according to your needs. This ensures that the image below is in black and white and has the feel of an old movie;

Next, import the same image as above in Overlay Track 2, adjust it to the screen size, and add the video mask you just created. For details, refer to the following method to add a video mask:

In fact, the effect will appear after adding the mask, but the effect may not be ideal. It will be more beautiful if you add a border. The yellow border is made with a yellow block, and its size and position can be adjusted through custom motion.

Just add a "cross fade" transition at the beginning and end of the material (it can be a video or many photos, I only chose one photo here just to illustrate the problem).

4. The screen playback speed becomes faster or slower

Open VideoStudio

1. Drag and drop video files in the library and import them into the timeline

2. Click on the video material, click on the upper left corner to edit and open "Speed/Time Lapse"

3. In "Speed/Time Passage", there are many parameters that can be set. There is a slider at the bottom to adjust the speed.

5. Replay the screen three times

Open VideoStudio

1. Add the video you want to change, or right-click on the main video track and insert the video

2. Play to the position where you want to capture the repeated shot, pause, then put the mouse on the main video track and right click – select Split Material

3. After splitting, there will be two videos. For example, the first one is the shot you want to repeat.

4. Place the mouse on the previous video, right-click and click Copy

5. At this time, a video has been copied. Put the mouse in the middle of the two videos. You will find that the mouse turns into a hand with a plus sign, which means that it will be added after clicking, and there is also the time of the current copied video.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5, copy and add more shots. In this way, when you play the same shot several times, there will be a repeated effect.

6. Reverse video effect

Open VideoStudio

1. You need to import the prepared video into VideoStudio, and drag the imported video to the video track below

2. We need to open the options panel, which may be hidden. We can right-click the video on the video track and choose to open the options panel, or we can click the "Options" button to open the options panel.

3. We need to find the Reverse Video option on the panel and click to check it. Look carefully at the picture below. Before and after checking the box, the picture displayed in the window has changed. In fact, the video has been reversed.
