Marketing skills and ideas for Teachers’ Day!

Teachers' Day is coming soon. Have you thought about the marketing strategy to leverage on Teachers' Day?

1. Thematic Elements Analysis

  • Theme name: Teachers' Day, September 10th
  • Symbolic items: teacher meaning, classroom related things, teacher's catchphrase, teacher's subject
  • Theme related things: memories, gratitude, complaints

The above has roughly summarized the relevant elements of the Teacher's Day theme. I will distinguish the corresponding theme elements based on the reading object:

  • Teacher: Express what the teacher wants to say from the teacher's perspective;
  • Students: From a student's perspective, you can express your feelings towards the teacher. It is OK to express gratitude, praise, or complain.
  • The teacher’s family and friends: You can talk about the teacher’s hard work or the other side of the teacher;
  • Family and friends of students: express gratitude, wishes and praise; praise can be expressed by explaining the meaning of the teacher, using metaphors to describe the teacher, etc.;
  • Others: generally refers to people who have left school and can recall the teacher’s words and deeds, express gratitude and praise, etc.

Through the combined analysis of thematic elements and reading objects, I finally divided the theme into the following parts for analysis:

  • Praise for teachers: evaluation, metaphor;
  • Memories of the teacher: classroom-related matters, words and deeds;
  • Gratitude to teachers: Gratitude, subjects;
  • The other side of teachers: teachers of different dimensions.

2. Creative Sharing Analysis

1. Praise for the teacher

Praising teachers is the core theme of Teachers' Day. I roughly divide it into two aspects: on the one hand, interpret the definition of teachers, attach a positive definition, and give a positive evaluation of their work; on the other hand, use metaphors to praise teachers, generally comparing them to bees, gardeners, bright lamps, candles, big trees, spring silkworms, the sea, etc.

Case analysis: They correspond to the metaphors of bees, pilots, guardians and beacons respectively.

2. Classroom related matters

Classroom-related items include blackboard, chalk, stationery, podium, desks, test papers, etc. Because pictures can be drawn on the blackboard, it can be used in picture design; chalk is designed in a long strip shape, which is suitable for products of this shape; as for podiums and desks, they can be used in furniture; for test papers, test paper templates can be used to set questions, and the analysis of the college entrance examination can be referred to, and it can also be presented in the form of grading homework.

Case analysis: The first two pictures show how to mark homework; the following pictures are pictures of blackboards; and the last picture uses the shape of chalk as an entry point.

3. Teacher’s catchphrase

The teacher's catchphrase is something that students often hear and is very familiar to them. The method is suitable for a series of posters, and the copywriting actually uses the teacher's catchphrases, combining them with brand characteristics to achieve the effect of conveying product information.

Common teacher mantras include:

  • You are the worst class I have ever taught!
  • What are you looking at me for? Look at the blackboard!
  • Another easy point question!
  • I'll speak for two more minutes.
  • If no one raised their hand, I would call on the name.
  • When you go to college, you will be free and relaxed.
  • Your class is the noisiest on the entire floor. I can hear your voices from my office!

Case analysis: The first three series of posters use the method of interpretation, explaining the meaning of the catchphrase according to the needs of the brand, thereby establishing the relationship between its theme and the brand; Tiantian Fruit Garden uses homophones to directly link the product with the catchphrase.

4. Teacher’s behavior

The teacher's behavior includes secretly observing students from behind the door, collecting mobile phones, collecting snacks during class, collecting extracurricular books, correcting homework, writing comments, and checking appearance. Because behaviors are a kind of scenario, they can be combined with brand characteristics through scenario construction to achieve the effect of conveying product information.

Case analysis: The teacher who collects the mobile phone; the teacher who observes secretly behind the door; the teacher's comments; and the teacher who collects the food are constructed respectively.

5. Gratitude to teachers

Since it is part of the memory of the teacher, gratitude usually involves recalling a certain scene or words and deeds of the teacher, and then expressing gratitude. For example, when the teacher corrects homework at night - teacher, thank you for your hard work; your teaching has taught me... teacher, thank you, etc.

Because gratitude is usually accompanied by praise, it is actually a bit similar to the praise mentioned above.

Case analysis: The following posters are what I learned from your teachings... Thank you teacher for your model.

6. Teacher's Subject

In fact, it is derived from the gratitude to teachers, and it mainly expresses gratitude based on the subjects that the teachers are in charge of. In form, it is suitable for use in a series of posters. The copy is written based on the relevant materials in the subjects selected according to the brand. The sources of materials for the main subjects are as follows.

  • Language: Commonly used materials for famous poems and verses. Chinese poetry culture has been around for thousands of years, so there are always suitable ones.
  • Mathematics: famous laws can be used to explain meaning, while geometric figures are used for pictorial construction;
  • English: Grammar is the most commonly used, and there are also multiple meanings of English words;
  • History: All the past is history, and to some extent, any story can be used;
  • Politics: It is best to focus on basic philosophy, the content of classical Marxist philosophy;
  • Physics: Basic physical principles are general knowledge, especially the three categories of sound, light and force;
  • Chemistry: Most products today are chemically made, so it depends on the situation;
  • Biology: All knowledge about plants and animals can be used, in addition to some formulas;
  • Sports: All related to sports competitions can be used;
  • Art: aesthetics, color matching, lines, etc. can all be used;
  • Music: Anything related to nursery rhymes can be used.

7. Different sides of teachers

The main readers are the teacher and his family and friends. The different sides of the teacher are presented in a comparative way, and in fact, the author is also expressing himself in the teacher's tone. You can start with clothing, hobbies, expression and tone of voice, etc.
