At 5:32 on the 22nd, the Guilin Meteorological Observatory in Guangxi updated and issued a red warning for heavy rain:

In the past hour, Diecai District and Xiufeng District have seen heavy rainfall of about 50 mm. At present, the heavy rainfall clouds are slowly moving southward and the intensity is maintained. It is expected that in the next three hours, all urban areas of Guilin will have heavy rainfall of about 60 mm, which may be accompanied by thunder and lightning. The meteorological risk of urban waterlogging is high, so please take precautions.

Guilin Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters issued a notice today (22nd). According to meteorological data analysis, under the combined influence of the shear line and cold air, Guilin City experienced heavy to torrential rain, with local heavy rainstorms. The strongest hourly rainfall was 94.9 mm in the Qingshitan Reservoir in Jiuwu, Lingchuan. Lingchuan, Lingui, and Guilin City have issued a red warning for heavy rain. Some rivers in the rainstorm area may experience floods above the warning level.

Guilin Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters held a meeting with relevant departments. In view of the long duration of this round of heavy rainfall, large rainfall in a short period of time and high disaster risk, according to the relevant provisions of the Guilin Flood Disaster Emergency Plan, the Guilin Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters decided to initiate the Guilin Flood Disaster Level IV Emergency Response at 5:55 on May 22.

Due to heavy rain, 371 schools in Guilin have suspended classes. When heavy rain comes, please pay attention to safety!
