China will become the world's largest car owner, with new energy vehicles accounting for more than 40% of the world's total

On December 13, at the New Energy Smart Vehicle Ecosystem Summit Forum, Fu Bingfeng, executive vice president and secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, revealed that as of December 2020, China's car ownership reached 275 million. Considering that this number is growing rapidly, if nothing unexpected happens, China will soon surpass the United States and become the world's largest car-owning country.

It is worth noting that under the influence of the "New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2021-2025)", China's new energy vehicles are developing in full swing. Fu Bingfeng said that China's new energy vehicle share currently accounts for 44% of the global total.

What’s interesting is that although traditional automotive forces have core technical accumulation in engine technology, since new energy vehicles no longer focus on engines and need to change their car-making ideas, the "conservative" forces have not gained much in the field of new energy vehicles.

From the perspective of the secondary market, except for Tesla, which is ranked at the top and belongs to the United States, Xpeng, NIO, and Ideal are all Chinese car manufacturers. This also shows the absolute advantage that China's new energy vehicles have achieved.
