Commander

The first and most important role of a boss is that of a commander. Just like a commander in a war, employees will fight wherever the boss points. A socialite is someone who mixes in all kinds of occasions, makes friends with people, and joins all kinds of circles. All of these require titles and a certain status, so the boss is very suitable for them. These are the boss's advantages. I once met a boss like this. He was involved in many circles and had negotiated many cooperations. Then our employees were able to coordinate the details very quickly. It was all thanks to the boss. Of course, employees also have their contributions, and their roles are more in details and execution. Therefore, the boss will play three roles in the position of socialite: one is a salesperson, one is a BD, and one is a lubricant. As for the so-called salesperson, everyone knows that any company has products or services, and the boss also has to go out to sell them, go out to contact customers, understand customer needs, and sell the company's products. Secondly, the second task of a socialite is BD, which is business development. It means connecting with various advantageous resources, mixing in circles, and building connections. Again, the third task of a socialite is to be a lubricant. Why is it called a lubricant? Because in many negotiations, when the last step is about to be taken, the boss needs to be present. These are the unspoken rules of negotiation. This is a very clear process. In some companies, this process is very chaotic. The boss not only has to talk about it, but also has to follow up. This shows that the process is not working. There are also bosses who stay idle at home every day, while their subordinates go out to negotiate various things. After the negotiations, the boss listens to the reports and says all kinds of things are not acceptable. These are all problems. It is very important for a boss to understand his or her own role and to be a good socialite.

The three points mentioned above are all done by the boss on his own initiative. Now let’s talk about something that the boss needs to do passively, which is the waiter. What is a waiter? He is the kind who is on call at any time. In many external work, the boss needs to appear and take the stage. For example, at a meeting of tens of thousands of people, everyone who comes is the CEO, and it would feel awkward if you are a VP. Or at a salon, everyone who comes is a director, and it would feel uncoordinated if you are the CEO. These are some external rules. In fact, these are a kind of cooperation for the department's work. If you do this kind of cooperation well, the company will be done well. I met a boss before who was very humble. He could cooperate with you in many external work, and many things would be done with good results. There are also some who are uncooperative. No matter what you ask them to do, they think this is not right, that is not right, and they also think that your level is not good enough. In the end, nothing is done, or if it is done, it is no longer the same as before and is of no use. A company is a system. The boss needs to coordinate various tasks and play various roles well in order for a company to develop rapidly. Why do we need to shout slogans when running? Because this way everyone can run fast and in unison. If everyone is in chaos, then no one will be able to run fast. The same is true for a company. The boss is the slogan. If he shouts well and gives the right commands, the company will develop quickly. If he shouts poorly, the company will develop slowly, have various problems, and eventually be eliminated by the times.
