Last night, you may have been unable to connect to the Apple App Store for a while. Don't doubt your network. The reason is that Apple services are down.

On Wednesday local time in the United States, Apple suffered a large-scale global outage. Internet online services such as App Store, iTunes Store, iCloud, and Mac App Store experienced access problems, affecting users in many countries and regions around the world, including the United States, China, and Hong Kong.

In online forums related to Apple services, some users reported seeing a system error message "STATUS_CODE_ERROR" when logging into the software store. On the social network Twitter, a large number of users used the hashtags "#appstoredown" and "#itunesdown" to complain about the Apple service outage and express their dissatisfaction.

Apple's official system status page shows that the outage began at 5 pm yesterday Beijing time and lasted until around 4 am today, with the interruption lasting about 11 hours.

Such a large-scale and long-term network service interruption is the largest downtime incident of Apple's online services in recent years. Last September, Apple also had a failure incident. At that time, some users of iTunes Store reported that they could not access it normally. The failure lasted less than six hours.

In a statement, Apple publicly apologized to users and said the outage was caused by an internal DNS error. So far, all Apple services have been restored.

The downtime not only affected the normal use of Apple's various online services, but also impacted Apple's stock price. As of now, Apple's stock price has fallen sharply by 1.82%, evaporating more than $13 billion.

Just two days before the outage, Apple had just held a spring product launch event, launching the Apple Watch and the new MacBook laptop. Obviously, this outage came at a bad time.
