WeChat 7.0.10 has many small changes besides dark mode

Change 1: Message Quote Reply

If you long press on the chat history, you can see that there is an additional "Quote" function in the shortcut menu.

This feature first appeared on PC, and version 7.0.10 introduced it to mobile platforms for the first time.

As the name suggests, "Message Quote" means that when you reply to a message in a conversation, WeChat automatically attaches the original message to your reply so that the recipient can quickly distinguish your question.

This feature is especially useful in group chats.

Version 7.0.10 has a better display effect for quoted messages than the PC version. It adds a clear color distinction between the original text and the reply, instead of the simple dividing line in the PC version.

Of course, this also depends on the recipient's WeChat version. If the version number is lower than 7.0.10, the display will be the same as the PC version.

Change 2: “Scan” Redesign

The new version of Scan has been slightly revised. In addition to streamlining the bottom buttons to "Scan Code", "Identify Objects", and "Translate", the scanning box in the middle has also been cancelled, making it look more like a system camera.

Three new buttons have been added, namely "My QR Code", "Flashlight", and "Scan Existing Pictures".

Of course, these three are also old functions, but after being turned into buttons, they are more convenient to use.

Change 3: “Recognizing Things”

"Identify Objects" is a newly added function in Scan. To put it simply, it uses the search engine to directly tell you what you are currently scanning.

Change 4: View the original image

"View original image" is different from the old version. "Download" and "Other images in session" are moved to the lower right corner of the interface, while "View original image" is placed in the lower left corner. This should be an adjustment made to facilitate user downloading.

After all, most netizens hold their phones in their left hands, so compared to the previous centered design, the new version of "View original image" is easier to press.

Change 6: Direct Card and Voucher Transfer

Change 7: “Goodies Circle” → “Circle”

With the upgrade of "Search", the original good things circle has also been transformed into "Circle" in the new version.

Different from the familiar circle of friends, "Circles" are more like interest forums, where you can find a circle that suits you based on your interests, region, and hobbies.

Make friends in the circle, post articles or videos, or comment on other friends' articles, etc.

If Moments is a platform for acquaintances, then Circles is like WeChat’s platform for strangers, and can even be seen as the 2.0 version of WeChat public accounts.
