WeChat's new feature revealed: Group chat name notes are only visible to you

For a long time, friends’ WeChat names can be annotated, but WeChat group names cannot be annotated. Once modified, all people in the group will display the latest name. When more groups are joined, it will appear very messy.

Recently, WeChat has launched a function to annotate group chat names. Users can modify the group chat name through the "Annotation" function in the group chat settings, and "the group chat name after the annotation is only visible to the user himself."

After the modification, the group chat note name will replace the original group chat name in the message list. In the group chat interface, the original group chat name will appear in smaller font below the note name.

In this way, everyone can give each group a suitable name according to their preferences, and the message list will appear more organized.

According to Tencent's 2019 financial report, the number of monthly active accounts of WeChat and WeChat combined has reached 1.16 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%. In 2019, the number of daily active users of Mini Programs exceeded 300 million, and the average daily number of transactions more than doubled year-on-year. Compared with the previous year, the average number of visits to Mini Programs per person increased by 45%, and the average number of Mini Programs used per person increased by 98%.
