The examination subjects are ideology and politics, history, geography, physics, chemistry, and biology. Candidates can choose 3 subjects to take the exam.

Admission: Two-stage admission
The 2020 enrollment and admissions for general higher education institutions in Beijing are divided into two stages: undergraduate and higher vocational (junior college).
The total score of candidates participating in undergraduate admissions is composed of the scores of three unified college entrance examinations and three ordinary high school academic level graded examinations selected by the candidates. The full total score is 750 points. The application and admission filing for undergraduate studies are based on the school and major group method. An institution can have one or more academic major groups, and each academic major group can contain multiple majors. The elective subject requirements for each major within the same institution's professional group are the same. Parallel choices are implemented for the general undergraduate batch, with 30 choices set.
The higher vocational (junior college) stage adopts the "unified examination + qualified academic proficiency examination" enrollment model. The total score for junior college admission is composed of the three unified college entrance examination scores in Chinese, mathematics, and foreign languages. The enrolling universities select two subjects from the ordinary high school academic proficiency examination subjects as qualification requirements based on the training needs of each major. Candidates can only be admitted if they have passed the corresponding academic proficiency examination subjects. There are 20 parallel choices for the general batch of junior colleges, and each choice is for one college.
