They hope that there will be an excellent typhoon with little impact, so it will rain and cool down a little! Some friends also raised questions: Why are there so few typhoons during the same period this year? When will the typhoon come? What will the next typhoon be called? Today, I will answer some small questions about typhoons:
Why are there so few typhoons this year compared to previous years?
So far this year, only two typhoons have been generated, namely Typhoon "Nuri" and Typhoon "Vongfong", which is 2.7 typhoons less than the same period in previous years.
Because the current subtropical high pressure is stronger than usual, it has squeezed the development space of typhoons, resulting in a "shortage" of typhoons!
When will the typhoon come?
At present, no typhoon is expected to form in early July. According to the current major numerical forecasts, there is no cyclone activity in the South China Sea and the northwest Pacific Ocean, and there are no active typhoons for the time being.
The high temperatures in some parts of South China are already exceeding normal levels. If there is no typhoon to "sprinkle water", it is estimated that the high temperatures will continue for some time!
What will the next typhoon be called?
According to the order of the typhoon naming list, after Typhoon "Wongfong" and Typhoon "Nuri", there are Typhoon No. 3 "Shanlak", Typhoon No. 4 "Haiyan" and Typhoon No. 5 "Qiangwei".
In short, before the typhoon arrives, friends in South China will have to endure continued high temperatures for a period of time. According to expert analysis, from the end of early to mid-July, the subtropical high pressure will strengthen and move northward, then extend westward, the plum rain season in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River will end, and the weather will turn sunny and hot. After the subtropical high moves northward, it may leave room for the typhoon to develop. Coupled with high sea temperatures and other conditions, it will be conducive to the development of the typhoon. However, there are still certain variables, and we need to wait and see as time gets closer. We will continue to pay attention to the cyclone developments in the South China Sea and the northwest Pacific and bring you news in a timely manner. In addition to the high temperature, our country issued heavy rain warnings for 31 consecutive days, which were finally lifted this morning! The rain in the southern region will weaken temporarily, but will intensify again starting tomorrow.
Today, there will still be large-scale rainfall in the south, but the intensity will be significantly weaker than yesterday. It is predicted that parts of southern Jianghuai, eastern Jianghan, central and northern and western Jiangnan, eastern Guizhou, Yunnan, northern North China, and southeastern Tibet will have moderate to heavy rain, with local heavy rain or torrential rain (100-110 mm).
Starting tomorrow, a new round of heavy rainfall will begin again in the eastern part of the southwest region, Jianghan, Jianghuai, and northern Jiangnan. It is predicted that moderate to heavy rain will occur in parts of southern Jianghuai, central and southern Jianghan, central and northern Jiangnan, central and southern Southwest China, southern and eastern North China, and central Northeast China, among which heavy rain or torrential rain will occur in some local areas.
On the 5th, there will be moderate to heavy rain in the central and southern Jianghuai, central and southern Jianghan, northern Jiangnan, central and northern Guizhou, Chongqing, southern Sichuan, and Northeast China, with heavy rain in some areas and local torrential rain (100-120 mm).
In terms of temperature, southern Jiangnan and southern China will still be affected by the subtropical high pressure in the next few days. The sultry weather will continue and high temperatures will often appear. Even in places where high temperatures are not reached, the highest temperature will be mostly around 33℃ or 34℃. Coupled with the high humidity, the feeling of stuffiness will still be very obvious.
Due to frequent rainfall in the north, there will be few high temperatures in Northeast China and North China in the next week, and the highest temperature in many places will be below 30℃. The heat in the north in the next few days will basically be concentrated in the northwest region. The highest temperature in this area will be around 30℃ in the next few days. High temperatures may also occur in Xi'an, Yinchuan and other places. However, the heat in the northwest region is mostly dry and sunny, which is more comfortable than the stuffy heat in South China.
