Four advertising professionals who have moved from Party B to Party A talked about their experiences...
Hey Party B people! Do you think that if you work for the client, you will get high pay and little work without having to work overtime? ——You are still too young! We interviewed 4 former advertising professionals who jumped from Party B to Party A to hear what they said!

Perhaps, in the eyes of Party B, when Party A gives us a brief, it is like this:

Well, just like this, looking around,

I want the design to be both grand and down-to-earth, and the copywriting to be simple yet elegant.

In short, I want this, I want that, I want everything.

When Party A rejects Party B's proposal, it is as follows:

Well, just like this, he flipped the table over when he disagreed with something, saying this is not allowed, that is not allowed, nothing is allowed...

In the eyes of Party B, when Party A does not ask Party B to make changes, it is probably like this:

Well, I am so calm and composed, taking a nap, checking Weibo, and leaving get off work on time every day...

In the eyes of many Party Bs, Party A is such a person who likes to cause trouble for no reason! But in fact - all this is Party B’s dream!

We interviewed 4 former advertising professionals who were working at Party A and asked them to share their experiences of jumping from Party B to Party A.

Is it true that working for the client requires less work, more pay and no overtime?

——Don’t be naive! Mei Xiaohua shows you the truth!

Interviewee 1: Yuzu

Party B copywriter → Party A marketing copywriter

With two years of working experience, Youzi has experienced many twists and turns in her career. Before he even graduated, he was already highly valued by his boss and was responsible for the copywriting work for three brands. From proposal to execution, we can do everything.

The successive big brand customers gave Youzi a lot of experience and confidence, but at the same time as the opportunities came, it also brought Youzi a lot of criticism -

The new boss in the group and Yuzi don't get along well, and neither of them can stand the other's work style. If the two sides fail to achieve the goal of getting along, only one party will withdraw.

After leaving the second party, Youzi came to the first party and started a new run-in...

Interviewee 2: Gray

Party B Project Specialist (PM) → Party A Marketing Specialist

When Gray was still a novice, she was full of expectations for the second party. "At that time, I didn't know anything, but I thought 4A was very fancy, so I went for it."

There are many companies that are more "fancy" than 4A. Gray certainly seized every job opportunity and went to a multinational Internet company to show his talents.

Interviewee 3: Roasted Breast

Party B Akang (Customer Executive) → Party A Marketing Operations Specialist

In Brother Kaoru's opinion, the work of the second party is as tiring as hell: "I joined a newly established team, and my boss was on vacation on the first day, so as an AE, I have to cross multiple levels and report to the BD (business director)... The pressure is too great."

Later, Kaoru Ge was introduced to Party A to work as an operator. "I didn't deliberately want to go to Party A when I was looking for a job. I just compared the offers from Party A and Party B and felt that the package offered by Party A was better, so I went to Party A."

Interviewee 4: Brick

Banzhuan: Party B’s all-rounder (Akang, copywriter, public relations) → Party A’s senior marketing department personnel

Banzhuan’s experience as a third-party is very special. It started out in advertising, then turned to public relations, and then digital marketing . Except for the work of designer, I have basically done all other third-party jobs.

After seeing through Party B, Banzhuan chose to go to Party A to continue to shine.

Part 1: Why do you want to work for Party A?

Meihua.com: Why do you want to leave Party B’s job?

Yuzu: I don’t get along with the boss.

Gray: The client was more attractive to me, so I went for it.

Roasted Breast Brother: The customers are not nice, the boss is not nice, I can’t do this job anymore.

Brick:

The Party B company still has limitations, and the relationship with the brand is not a long-term one.

I am no longer so interested in fleeting romances and would rather try the real life of firewood, rice, oil and salt.

Meihua.com: Through what channels did you find the job with Party A?

Yuzu: A friend introduced me.

Gray: Submit your resume.

Roasted Breast: Introduced by a friend.

Brick:

Party B has too many interview opportunities with companies.

Many of them are customers you directly serve, and some are your colleagues or customers who have joined the new company.

Of course, headhunters also played a significant role.

Meihua.com: Many colleagues working for Party B have complaints about the demands made by Party A. I wonder what your attitude towards Party A was when you were Party B?

Youzi: I feel that the client is so annoying, he keeps making changes.

Gray:

In fact, the second party also regards itself as a person in the market of the first party, so if the behavior of the first party is not conducive to producing better results, I would think that the first party's nitpicking is unnecessary. If the client really argues based on reasonable grounds, I think there is no problem. After all, if a good work is produced, it can be regarded as one's own achievement.

Roasted Breast:

For me, Party A is where the dream begins, a nightmare!

Brick:

I will also complain, why are the people in the marketing department so unprofessional? Why do they have to choose the worst idea to implement in the end? It’s very simple. The overall picture and the truth cannot be seen from the other party.

Part 2: After arriving at Party A, is Party A the same as you imagined?

Meihua.com: After coming to Party A, is there any difference in work content compared to working at Party B?

Grapefruit:

Although my job title is "copywriter", I feel that I have to do more than just copywriting.

It’s a bit like copywriting + Akang. For example, to organize an offline event , you need to contact suppliers, arrange materials, and conduct internal communication.

Gray:

It is more about not considering the communication effect.

But it is the actual business growth conversion rate brought by the work.

Exposing creativity is not the ultimate goal.

Roasted Breast:

The company I work for is engaged in a very special field that requires strong professional knowledge. When I first started working in operations and public relations, there were a lot of jargons that I didn’t understand. I also had to deal with different departments, and everyone had different opinions, which made it very difficult to get on with the project. I feel like I need to work alone in the client's position, have strong independent handling skills, and know a little bit about everything...

In short, it is more tedious and more stressful than working for Party B.

Brick :

It can be said to be completely different.

From "making money" to "spending money", from "achieving KPI" to "being responsible for the actual marketing results",

But the most different thing is that the vision and pattern have changed.

Meihua.com: After joining Party A, what is your attitude towards Party B?

Grapefruit:

I have a deeper understanding of “reform, reform and change”. In fact, sometimes, Party A itself does not know what it wants and only gives a general strategic direction without thinking about the specific implementation in detail. At this time, Party B needs to follow up and ask more questions. Party B cannot just listen to Party A and sometimes has to stick to its own decision. Doing this can avoid unnecessary "modifications".

Roasted Breast:

Working for the other party gives me a sense of pleasure of being abused. Working for the client gives me a sense of self-abuse.

Everyone has their own hardships, and we all work to make a living, so let's just finish the work happily...

Gray:

Our company does everything in-house, and only certain activities use vendors, haha. So there is no Party B.

Brick:

After joining Party A, I have a clearer understanding of what Party B can and cannot do. For example, it will be very difficult for Party B to do things at the strategic level. Therefore, we try our best to let the marketing department issue accurate instructions to ensure that the agency can complete its work in its areas of expertise with high quality and efficiency. Of course, you still need to get used to the quotation. After all, you will always feel bad when you pay out of your own pocket, especially when you roughly know the bottom price.

Meihua.com: Many people say that the salary for the same level of position is much higher on the client side than on the client side. Is this true?

Grapefruit:

In my personal case, it won't make much difference.

Roasted Breast:

My experience is not particularly deep, but by comparison, for people who have just been employed for 1-2 years, the salary of Party A is indeed a little higher than that of Party B.

Gray:

It’s not representative of the industry as a whole, but it’s definitely higher than my peers at well-known agencies.

Brick:

If we only consider fixed salaries, in fact, the salaries of many Party A companies may be lower than those of some excellent Party B companies. However, if we consider the personal benefits based on the company's development, the company's upward path will be clearer.

Part 3: Since I have been on both sides, let me give you some advice!

Meihua.com: If you were given another chance to choose, would you choose to work for Party A or Party B?

Grapefruit:

Of course it’s Party A. I’m not very suitable for Party B’s working mode.

I can't work overtime every day, I have to have my own normal life.

Roasted Breast:

In fact, I have been struggling with whether to go back. When I left Party B, I felt like I had "lost" and was very unwilling. But when I came to Party A, I also didn’t feel like I had “won”… In fact, Party A wasn’t much more relaxed than Party B… “The tigers in the east mountain eat people, and the tigers in the west mountain also eat people.”

Meihua.com: Do you have any advice for those who want to work for the client?

Grapefruit:

After graduation, I will stay at Party B for a period of time.

Because Party B can constantly hone you and help you grow quickly.

It also lets you know that you should cherish every job opportunity.

Roasted Breast:

Develop your ability to work independently.

If you work for a third party, you have to be selective with your clients. When working for Party A, you need to consider the field in which it is engaged.
