Is time a false proposition or an illusion? What does the timeline mean?

Is time a false proposition or an illusion? What does the timeline mean?

There are often discussions on the Internet that time does not exist and is a human illusion. The so-called four-dimensional time axis is a false proposition. Let's analyze it together and we will understand.

Time is the axis of three-dimensional space, and the world we live in is called four-dimensional space-time.

If we only talk about space, the world we live in is a three-dimensional space, that is, a space with length, width, and height, that is, X, Y, and Z coordinates. In this three-dimensional space, adding a one-dimensional time axis, it becomes a four-dimensional space-time. This is the so-called space-time. Space-time is indivisible, and it is the container of material existence and the measurement of movement direction and speed. Any material must exist in a certain space, that is to say, without space, there is no place for matter to stay; all matter is in motion and change, and the scale of measurement is time. Without time, matter will stop moving and changing, and the world will die.

Similarly, if there is no space and matter, time will have no object to be labeled, and therefore time will not exist.

Therefore, time, space and matter are inseparable and coexist and prosper together. They are born and die at the same time. However, matter is concrete and we can see that it really exists, while time and space are invisible and intangible abstract existences. This abstract existence is real and we can feel it and use scales to represent it.

Time exists objectively, but humans can describe it subjectively.

The objectivity of time is reflected in the fact that any visible or invisible material in the world has birth and death, and there is an order of birth and death. For example, people are born, grow old, get sick and die, trees and flowers also have spring and autumn, wither and flourish, mountains and rivers also change, molecules and atoms are in motion, and particles will decay. This order is unstoppable and never stops. Therefore, objectively, time is one-dimensional and forward, and it never stops. If it stops, the world will perish.

These are all objective evidences of the existence of time. Humans have learned the laws of time and formed a consensus on the changes of time. They have determined the scale of time in their own way, such as year, month, day, hour, minute, second, yesterday, today, tomorrow, past, present, future, etc.

In physics, there are seven physical quantities, expressed as: length m (meter), time s (second), mass kg (kilogram), thermodynamic temperature K (kelvin), electric current unit A (ampere), light intensity cd (candela), amount of substance mol (mole), and time symbol t. The most basic unit of time s is defined as: the duration of 9192631770 cycles of radiation corresponding to the transition between two hyperfine energy levels of the atomic state of undisturbed cesium-133.

These are human beings' understanding and application of the objective existence and objective laws of time. Human beings can only understand and use objective laws, but cannot change them. Just like human beings treat time, they can understand and use it, but cannot change it. But some people often say that time is a false proposition and an illusion. But whether you admit it or not, it is still there. You don't need to calculate it by years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds. It is still there. Once it passes, it will make you older every day and eventually end.

Objective time is the same among all civilizations in the universe.

Time is not just human time. In our four-dimensional space-time world, if there are other civilizations, time will also pass. In their environment, their understanding of time periods and scale divisions will definitely be different from ours, but no matter what units they use to divide them, objective time is the same.

We don't know whether there are flowers, plants and trees there, but there are some things that are common to our universe. For example, we humans already know that the half-life of uranium 238 is 4.5 billion years, the half-life of potassium 40 is 1.2 billion years, the half-life of phosphorus 32 is 14 days, the half-life of sodium 24 is 15 hours, the half-life of bismuth 212 is 1 hour, the half-life of polonium 215 is 0.0018 seconds, and so on. The objective time they detect is the same, no matter what scale they use to mark it, the actual length is the same after conversion.

Voyager 1 is flying out of the solar system, carrying a small piece of uranium 238 on it. Even if it encounters an extraterrestrial civilization 20 trillion years later, they will be able to calculate when it set off based on the decay state of the uranium 238 carried by Voyager 1.

This is objective time, which is not affected by environmental factors and is the most basic element for humans to communicate with other civilizations. If there are civilizations other than humans in this world, we can communicate through the consensus of these objective times.

This is the so-called time axis. This "axis" is just a way of expressing it by humans. You can also express it without using the "axis", but objective time is a real existence in our universe and is an integral part of space and matter.
