Sleep vs. Health——To the Working People!

Sleep vs. Health——To the Working People!

One third of a person's life is spent sleeping, which shows how important sleep is to humans. However, many people cannot get enough sleep or their sleep quality is too low for various reasons. Some even sleep only 6 hours or less a day. This is actually a very dangerous behavior that can cause many problems.

This has been proven by many studies.

So how long should people sleep?

In fact, there are many studies on sleep. Here we quote the common research conclusions of the National Sleep Organization of the United States.

This table lists the sleep needs of different age groups, and everyone can determine it according to their own needs.

However, for those who are active on major websites and are between the ages of 18 and 35, the required sleep time may be in the range of 7 to 9 hours. If it is less than this range, some people may feel uncomfortable.

So don't follow the so-called words of those magical people who teach you to sleep less than 6 hours or even less, because such low sleep comes at the expense of your body.

After all, in addition to the common function of providing relief to the human body, an important function of sleep is to help the body's immunity recover. For example, studies have found that sleep can help clear harmful substances from the brain.

Therefore, everyone should get enough sleep.

However, at this time, another group of people appeared, the insomniac group. They wanted to sleep but had difficulty falling asleep.

Insomnia, hair loss and obesity have become the three major topics of contemporary people. According to relevant statistics, about one-third of people worldwide have insomnia symptoms or sleep dysfunction. This phenomenon also exists in my country, where the proportion of insomnia is as high as about 20%.

In recent years, insomnia has become younger. For example, studies have found that the proportion of insomnia patients aged 31-40 has increased significantly, even approaching that of the elderly group, while the age group with the highest incidence of sub-health insomnia is 20-29 years old.

It can be said that sleep problems have become an experience for many people today, and even many people suffer from persistent insomnia, which has greatly affected their physical health. Not only is the mental state poor, but the neuroendocrine disorders caused by sleep can also cause depression, anxiety, tension and other emotions. Long-term insomnia can also induce a series of diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Therefore, insomnia is not only a source of frustration during the long nights, but also a health problem.

So what causes insomnia?

There are many studies on the causes of insomnia, which are generally believed to include the following factors:

1. Psychological factors, which may be a common factor leading to occasional insomnia, such as mood swings, psychological inability to accept and adapt to unfamiliar environments, or worries about sleep itself may lead to insomnia.

2. Disease factors. Many diseases can cause insomnia, such as chronic pain, hyperthyroidism, etc.

3. Chemical factors are mainly related to some factors that stimulate sleep, such as drugs, caffeine, nicotine and alcohol, which can affect sleep.

4. Physical factors, the most common of which is noise.

In fact, problems such as anxiety may also be the reason why most people have poor sleep. After all, there is so much social pressure nowadays, whether it is college students and graduate students facing further studies and employment, or many office workers who have to succumb to work pressure, even middle-aged and elderly people are facing health and family pressure.

For these people, the best thing to do is to adjust their mood and relieve anxiety.

In fact, adjusting your work and rest schedule and changing your lifestyle are the best ways to deal with sleep anxiety. However, a lot of stress is actually caused by habits that are difficult to change. If they could be changed, they would have been changed long ago.

So in this case, you may need to use some supplements to aid sleep.

In general, it is strongly recommended that you do not sleep less than 7 hours. As for 6 hours, don't pursue it. In fact, many times, work is not about time, but about efficiency. If you sleep too little, you lack energy, and your efficiency is lowered, then why bother?
