The governor of Kentucky said on the 11th that this was the most serious, destructive and deadly tornado in Kentucky's history. A candle factory in the state was completely destroyed, killing at least 70 people so far, and the final death toll may exceed 100. Currently, Kentucky has declared a state of emergency.

In addition, the roof of a warehouse in Illinois was blown off, and a nursing home in Arkansas was damaged, both causing casualties. Multiple tornado-related deaths have also been confirmed in Missouri and Tennessee.

Data from the U.S. power tracking website showed that the tornado attack has caused power outages for more than 330,000 households in four states in the U.S. The U.S. National Weather Service previously issued a tornado warning on the 10th, saying that at least 25 million people are expected to be affected by the tornado attack.

US President Biden said on the 11th that this may be one of the largest tornadoes in US history. The National Weather Service will conduct a formal investigation to confirm whether this is a continuous tornado or multiple tornadoes generated by the same storm. If it is confirmed as a single and continuous tornado, it will set a record for the longest "long track" tornado in US history.

American meteorologists said that it is rare to see such a severe tornado disaster in this season. It is not yet certain whether climate change has an impact on it. The specific cause of such severe weather disasters needs further research.
