The doctor said: Don’t do these 4 things, otherwise you will have another cerebral infarction!

Master Li had another cerebral infarction. This was his second cerebral infarction in six years. He was not as lucky this time as the last time. He is still in the intensive care unit, unable to speak, and half of his body cannot move.

Six years ago, when 41-year-old Master Li just got up to go to the toilet, he suddenly fell down. He wanted to get up, but the left side of his body refused to obey his command. It was bad, he had a stroke. He called 120 and was sent to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with cerebral infarction.

1. His life is like this

After being admitted to the hospital, the doctor learned that the main cause of Master Li's cerebral infarction was actually the same as that of most cerebral infarction patients. He had three highs but didn't know it, never had a physical examination, couldn't control his diet, never moved, and couldn't move his legs. Master Li's job is relatively leisurely. Although his salary is not high, he doesn't need to move, and he sits in the office all day. Although his salary is not high, his family conditions are good, so he eats whatever is "good" (what he thinks is good is greasy and fried food, including desserts and crisps, which are what we call saturated fat and trans fat in medicine. These two types of fat are the producers of vascular garbage. As for the really delicious and healthy vegetables, fruits, whole grains, fish, etc., he doesn't take them seriously, let alone put them in his mouth), he also drinks and smokes, and never exercises, so his weight is overweight. Because he lives a leisurely life, he has no pressure in work and life, and often stays up late to play. Unhealthy diet + sitting for a long time without exercise + smoking and drinking + obesity + staying up late = atherosclerosis. In other words, he has almost all the unhealthy lifestyles. Do you think his blood vessels can be cured?

2. His three highs are like this

When he was admitted to the hospital, Master Li's blood pressure was 190/120 mmHg (normal ideal blood pressure is 120/70 mmHg), random blood sugar was 14.7 mmol/L (normal random blood sugar is <11.1 mmol/L), triglycerides were 7.7 mmol/L (normal triglycerides are <1.7 mmol/L), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol was 4.6 mmol/L (low-density lipoprotein cholesterol for people with hypertension or diabetes should be <2.6 mmol/L).
Master Li is a typical patient with three highs, but he has never had a physical examination, so he naturally does not know that he has high blood pressure, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia. Not knowing he has the three highs, he naturally cannot control them. If he does not control the three highs, atherosclerosis will accelerate and worsen, eventually leading to plaque rupture, blood clot formation, and cerebral infarction.

3. Youth + Good Luck

Because he was treated promptly and was young at the time, Master Li's hemiplegia symptoms were gradually relieved after thrombolytic therapy. When he was discharged from the hospital, Master Li could hardly be seen to have had a stroke when he walked. In other words, there were basically no obvious sequelae.
When I was discharged from the hospital, the doctor gave me a very detailed discharge instruction, including medication arrangement, follow-up time, monitoring indicators, healthy diet, and activity recommendations.
Not only that, I was repeatedly reminded that I must: change unhealthy lifestyle habits, take medicines on time, monitor blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood lipids, and come for regular check-ups.

4. The scar heals and the pain is forgotten

Like everyone else, once the wound heals, the pain is forgotten!
Master Li didn't know who told him that if a stroke doesn't recur after 5 years, it won't recur again. Master Li persisted for the first 5 years and was pretty good. After all, he had experienced hemiplegia and stayed in the ICU once, and no one wants to go back to the ICU again.
But after 5 years, I became lax. I couldn't stand the days without cigarettes, alcohol, and "good food". I had to take some "seemingly useless" drugs all day. I heard people say that after 5 years, I was cured. So Master Li started to smoke secretly, drink alcohol occasionally when he went out, eat fried food, and eat desserts. I felt okay, nothing uncomfortable. So he became worse and gradually returned to the life before he was 40 years old.
Before he was 40, he was still relatively young, but at that time, his metabolism had already started to deteriorate, and he had three highs, which is why he had three highs and cerebral infarction. Now, five or six years have passed, and simply from his age, his metabolism has become worse, so he should pay more attention to his diet, exercise, and lifestyle to control the three highs and protect his blood vessels.
However, he believed the rumors and forgot the pain after his wounds healed. In the past year, he continued to smoke, drink, and eat as much as he could. Not only that, sometimes he even "forgot" to take his medicine. He did not monitor his blood pressure, blood sugar, or blood lipids at all.
As a result, he had another cerebral infarction. This time he was not as lucky as the last time. He has been staying in the ICU for 7 days and is still not out of danger, let alone the recovery of his language and limb functions.
Even if the patient recovers and is discharged from the hospital, there will definitely be detailed sequelae.

5. If you have had a stroke and don’t want to have one, don’t do these 4 things

1. Forgetting to take medicine

Many people with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, even if they have had myocardial infarction or cerebral infarction, will have no symptoms after the acute phase. On the surface, these people are the same as healthy people, but after all, their blood vessels are narrowed, after all, they have had thrombotic diseases, after all, they have experienced life and death. Their blood vessels may grow plaques again, thrombosis may occur, and blockage again.
The basis for preventing plaque aggravation, preventing blood clots from forming, and preventing another stroke or myocardial infarction is to take medication regularly under the guidance of a doctor.
For example, long-term use of aspirin and statins, taking drugs to control the three highs, and patients with atrial fibrillation also have to take anticoagulants (warfarin, dabigatran, rivaroxaban, etc.).

2. No matter the three highs

For hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia, it does not mean that you can just take drugs to lower the three highs. Taking drugs to lower the three highs will stabilize blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood lipids.
The three highs, especially blood pressure and blood sugar, are very naughty and are greatly affected by life. For example, diet, exercise, sleep, mood, etc. can cause fluctuations in blood pressure and blood sugar, so we must learn to monitor blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood lipids, and learn to manage blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood lipids. Instead of "I'm taking the medicine the other way around?", this is a self-deceiving statement.
The three highs are the main causes of cerebral infarction. If a person has had a cerebral infarction and does not pay attention to the three highs and does not monitor the three highs, then the three highs will inevitably aggravate atherosclerosis, aggravate vascular stenosis, and cause another cerebral infarction.

3. Don’t change your life

An unhealthy lifestyle is the culprit of the three highs and is also the root cause of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
For people with three highs or who have suffered a cerebral infarction, they must change their unhealthy lifestyles. For example, smoking and drinking, eating and drinking excessively, sitting for long periods of time, obesity, staying up late, etc. will increase the risk of the three highs and increase the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
If a person has already developed three highs or cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and is unwilling to change his lifestyle, not only will the three highs be poorly controlled, but the entire vascular condition will gradually worsen. Even if he takes more and more medicine, the condition will not improve.

4. Too much stress

Master Li is the kind of person who forgets the pain once the wound has healed.
In contrast to Master Li, there is another type of person who is afraid of ropes after being bitten once. Even if they have had a stroke, they can still live a healthy life, take medicine on time, monitor the three highs, and follow up. But at the slightest sign of trouble, they think they may have another stroke and that they are about to die.
Master Li doesn't take it seriously enough, but this kind of person cares too much and is a little anxious, which will be counterproductive and not conducive to recovery.
Therefore, when it comes to the three highs or cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, we cannot ignore them, but we also cannot care too much about them.

We should listen to the doctor's advice, take medicine on time, live a healthy life, have regular check-ups, monitor the three highs, be self-conscious and self-disciplined, control our diet and move our legs.
Too much is as bad as too little. It is not advisable to care too much, and it is also not advisable to care too little!
