Is it true that only Asians can do this? Today we are going to talk about the "Asian squat"

Although the Winter Olympics has ended, human competition has never stopped. In today's society where "as long as you can't die, you will roll to death", Asians have successfully scored another point in the matter of "squatting"!

Unexpectedly, we can crush the other six continents with just a simple action, not only making the other six continents sigh: "Are you serious about the squatting posture? Such a small action can cause such great damage..."

Open your legs and squat down slowly, with your buttocks close to your ankles and your heels completely on the ground. This is a necessary skill for every working person who gets paid to take a shit. It is also an essential social posture for daily squatting at the village entrance to eat melons, chat, or read newspapers.

If I hadn't heard Zhang Cailing complaining about her husband's entire toilet process, I might never have known that for foreigners, "squatting on the toilet" is actually a huge challenge for every part of the body, and every time you squat on the toilet is a sublimation of your whole body and mind.

"My husband bent his legs, lowered his center of gravity to the extreme, and then knelt down facing right... In order not to dirty his clothes, he took off his pants and hung them on the door..."

There was once a survey that showed that only 13.5% of Americans could do the Asian squat, and 9% of the 13.5% were Asian Americans, and the rest were yoga fanatics.

In the 1950s in the United States, a large number of students held Asian squat competitions just to see who could squat longer. At the same time, many people also released tutorials just to teach foreigners "how to squat."

Thus, a special term “Asian Squat” was created in English. From then on, the mysterious oriental power could no longer be hidden!

But this is really not a skill exclusive to Asians, there are many Asians who are also unable to complete squats.

So, why can't some people squat?

Lack of acquired practice

In China, squat toilets were everywhere at first. After the reform and opening up, flush toilets were introduced into some households. Although toilets are now very common, squat toilets have not been completely replaced.

Skills must be practiced from a young age, so we have mastered this "shitting skill" since childhood. However, the Europeans who had flush toilets early on missed the opportunity to practice this skill.

No physical advantage

It is understood that people with short limbs, big heads and long torsos are more likely to maintain balance when squatting (this does not mean that you have short legs). People who are too tall or too fat cannot complete this movement. At the same time, people with congenitally short Achilles tendons cannot complete the Asian squat.

Pathological causes

Pathological factors such as knee inflammation, knee pain, rheumatism, etc. can also cause us to be unable to squat.

When sacroiliitis occurs, the pain in the sacroiliac joint is more severe. The squatting action stimulates the sacroiliac joint. It may also cause a bone fracture due to aseptic necrosis of the femoral head of the hip joint or trauma, resulting in an inability to squat.

Research from Stanford University shows that the Asian squat can keep the end of the digestive system in a relaxed posture, making bowel movements smoother. People with gastrointestinal diseases should learn this defecation posture.

Squatting is actually a stretching exercise. For people who sit or stand for a long time, doing a few squats or squatting in the toilet can relax from head to toe. The waist, legs, knees, hips and ankles are all satisfied, and at the same time it can accelerate blood circulation.

Of course, there is also a problem that cannot be ignored: squatting for a long time will cause leg numbness. Students who are paid to squat in the toilet, please come out of the toilet after reading this article~
